Astros at Rockies 8/24
« on: August 24, 2011, 02:34:09 pm »
Apparently, Wandy either wants to remain an Astro or wants to help out his new team.  The first four men he faced all scored.

Astros up 5-4 in the 3rd.  Another pitching battle.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

4th inning, and Schaefer is the only Astro yet to reach base.

He just hit a line drive single up the middle.

"Yet"? Or "not"?

The only player in the starting lineup for the Houston Astros, on this date, that has not, as of the time of my previous posting, reached base, by means of either base hit or base on balls.

Point is now moo.

As is Wandy.  2-run HR makes it 6-5 Pebbles.

I hope Bogusevic isn't having just a nice run.  I hope/pray he figured something out and this is the new and improved model we get to keep for quite a while.

Amen.  I would think that given the money spent on him, the Astros would want to give him every shot at securing an everyday spot.

Is there some reason that Corporan is getting the majority of the playing time now, or is this another of Mills' brilliant hunches?

Aneury was pitching.  Wildly.  So wildly, in fact, that the winning run scored on a wild pitch.

After throwing one to the previous batter to get out of the double play setup.

I know it's a kaleidoscope of ways to lose but throwing a second wild pitch in an inning to bring the winner home is somewhere around losing the game on catcher's interference.

I guess that'll happen next month to complete the plagues.
