I may be in the minority here, but the majority of these violations don't really bother me. Cam Newton requesting a large cash payment to attend school? Yeah, that bothers me and undermines the integrity of college sports, imo.
A sleezeball mini-Napoleon crook throwing petty cash here and there at college kids that largely come from lower income backgrounds to facilitate their party in Miami is unpalatable, but the practice is probably fairly ubiquitous at the large programs.
To the extent that coaches were knowing participants/enablers, those coaches should be fired and never work in the NCAA again.
The major allegations in the report weren't shocking. In fact, I would be more surprised to hear that it didn't happen at a school like "the U." Unfortunately for that particular program, this guy got pinched and feels that his "family" of former Miami players deserted him, which only show how much of an insecure loser this guy was in the first place.
Maybe my jaded opinion is just a reflection of the unfortunate state of college sports in this country though.
