And as they point out, not one of them was in the organization two years ago.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

I respect Callis's lists more than most as he uses almost exclusively scouts and coaches views of players to make them.  But if Springer were signed and doing at Tri-City what most expect him capable of doing there's no way he isn't #1.

Wow. That's heady stuff considering the PHils top hitting and pitching prospects just joined the ranks.

Springer can be a masher and play excellent defense.  The combination at a premium position puts him there.

Wonder where JD & Altuve would sit if they were eligible?

I imagine Altuve wouldn't be very high. Most BA writers have stuck to their guns on the "nothing special" evaluation. Martinez was ranked 6th coming into this season, between Foltynewicz and Mier. He's performed very well and shown he can make adjustments, whereas Mier has fallen off a cliff and Foltynewicz hasn't wowed anyone. I think he'd rank behind Villar and ahead of Foltynewicz, with no inclination as to where he'd be relative to Oberholtzer and Clemens in their eyes.

Mayo at mlb.com still has Altuve (#3) and Martinez (#8) in his revised mid-season rankings. Link, you have to select "Astros". Mier nowhere to be seen.
