OF moving forward / Wallace
« on: July 31, 2011, 12:01:34 pm »
With JD Martinez getting called up, he has to play pretty much every day right?  If he is playing then there is only one spot for Carlos, 1B.

Mills doesn't seem willing to sit Carlos, so what do you do with Wallace?  Considering his sturggles is it time to send him to AAA to try and work things out?

There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

He'll be a FA in 2017...better trade him now.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

You mean when the cheater new guy gets off the 15 day DL.
Everyone's talking, few of them know

Package him with Lyles and throw in a prospect at Tr-City and I'll bet we could get some sucker to bite.

Just play lee-martinez-bourgeois;at this point do we really care about RF defense?

It may make the difference between losing 112 and losing 115.

I guess that answers my question about Wallace getting sent down....

FWIW - I agreed with your observation.  Oh, and Lee will be gone, it is just a matter of need and want and waivers at this point.  Wallace will be back once he gets regular playing time and gets his head straight again.  Johnson?  I dunno about that one.

Ought to find out what Wallace is made of here, from the Astros trading for 1st baseman to sending him down, I hope the org/coaches have got his attention.

Wade would still throw in a couple million.

Per Levine (via Twitter):

Career plate appearances for Carlos Lee: 7,955, For Astros' other 12 position players: 7,876.
In the end, my dissolution with the game of baseball will not be a result of any loss of love for the game, rather from the realization that I can no longer bear the anger its supposed stewards cause to be built up in my soul. -Lee (01/08/2013)
