I'm really looking forward to this. I don't know why. For the first time in a couple of years, though, I will have a computer in the same room as the game on tv.

I really hope we won't miss Q too much...

Cliff notes: had a rough 3 or 4 starts to begin '11, but had a string good starts over his last 5 for OKC.

HD for me, but I'm in Austin.

I'm not good at this PBP thing, but Pence got a single in the first, but nothing else happened.

Lyles gets the first 2, but Pence may have helped make a double into a triple, though the scorer gave him the 3 bagger. It leads to a popout for the 3rd out.

Lyles sitting 89-91 w/ 13 pitches in B1.

I hope Lyles can take advantage of that low strike zone Z is getting.

BTW, Did Cancel spend much time with Lyles in OKC?

I say this all the time but these fuckers get paid way too much money to miss routine calls like that as much as they do.

I'll be fascinated to see how much more often Lyles goes to the breaking ball the second time through the lineup.

Pitch fx (or whatever they have on Gameday). I'm doing good when I can tell the difference between a breaking ball and a change-up...

Had to wait and see if any of those baserunners scored. Didn't want to piss Zambrano off by allowing it to go on his ERA.

I know I'd go to hell if this opportunity arose, but if Carlos Zambrano walked in front of my car I'd probably gun the engine and hit him.

A cockier son of a bitch I've never seen.

Not to put the turd in the punchbowl, but Cancel is completely overmatched.  I guess that happens with your 4th string catcher.

I'm trying to count how many years ago I would have questioned taking Lee's bat out at that point in a one run game.  Three?  Maybe two?

If he threw to 3rd, chances are the C told him to.

Just checked this on the replay.  Cancel was clearly pointing to 1b.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

JD thought that at first too, but replays clearly showed the C pointing to first

ballgame. JD called it a "bottom of the 9th" type at-bat right before the double with marmol up to pitch. BB calling it another blown save, but is that right?

I think the relief pitchers need to be reminded their job is to get the batters to make outs. Seems they forgot or something.

bourn needs to join the hit parade.  he's hitless for the night.  that's not the way you want to go to the hotel.

Preach it brotha!  And as an added bonus, no W for Zambrano!

Holy shit that ball Pence hit was SMOKED!
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Is it possible that Campanas (sp?) is actually faster than Michael Bourn?

i have wallace benched in my fantasy league.  i have him benched so he can get a lot of hits.  make me regret playing freddie freeman.

I'd be willing to let you get credit for a save tonight. It's the least I could do for all you've done!!!

Cubs announcers give the player of the game to Zambrano. He gets a bonus for breaking his bat, I guess.

i enjoyed Lyles giving all the 2008 draft day pundits a big shitburger to eat after the Astros were given shit for picking him, a player not in the Baseball America top 200, at #38.

Well, to get nominated, at any rate. Not sure how he'd find out if he won.

I'm not much into the whole SFN thing... but that one was a no-doubter the second it left the bat...

Per Levine, Astros had clocked him at 3.8 seconds to 1B last night. I think he could be.

Very much like Pence's home run tonight. It's not every day that a guy hits a line drive and you know instantly that it's going to land ten rows up in the outfield seats.
