In the end, my dissolution with the game of baseball will not be a result of any loss of love for the game, rather from the realization that I can no longer bear the anger its supposed stewards cause to be built up in my soul. -Lee (01/08/2013)

"Munoz immediately released the woman after responding officers fired a bean bag round, according to police."

WTF? Did this happen on Mario Kart?

The red turtle shell ended the standoff immediately.

That bean bag round probably stings like a bitch, but it also says, "next one might be for real."

No, they use the Kart defense when a kidnapper demands mushrooms.
Don't think twice, it's alright.

Whenever I hear about the Mexican Army I can't help but think of the Peter Sellers movie Viva Max!

Are you sure it wasn't Peter Ustinov? I thought I was the only person who remembered that movie. I saw it when it came out and thought it was hilarious. Of course, I was 9. It may stink like the Mexican Army now.

You are correct.  I confused my Peters.

It's still hilarious.  Probably more so given how dated it is.

I heard that the standoff was broadcast live via radio. He was on a Mexican, whoa-oh, radio.

They should have given him the marijuana and the Play Station and waited about half an hour. They could have waltzed in and apprehended him with little or no commotion.

Better yet...give him the pot first, wait 30 minutes, then announce over a bull-horn there are Pringles outside

Then again, they could have given him the marijuana, the Play Station, and the French Army (in lieu of the Mexican Army) and he'd have surrendered within 5 minutes...

Yeah, but you get the French in there and next thing you know the sexual harassment charges start piling up. That state's court system is overburdened as it is.

Maybe they'd manage to stop before they pissed themselves in fear. Their weapons would be on the ground already though.

Oh, good.  An excuse to post this link.

French Revolution - Won, primarily due the fact that the opponent was also French.

The Franco-Prussian War - Lost. Germany first plays the role of drunk Frat boy to France's ugly girl home alone on a Saturday night.
