Damn. I learned how to run out a home run from that man, a skill that I had rare chance to use as a kid and which explains my glacial pace on my feet.

Great player.  I only saw the last quarter or so of his career, but that was enough.  Come to think of it, has stance and short, compact, powerful stroke remind me a little of Bagwell.  Or rather, vice versa.

So, who were the great Mormon sluggers?  The MLB record for career HRs by a player born in Utah is held by Duke Sims.  He was born in Salt Lake City, but is not Mormon.

Anyway, Killebrew, Dale Murphy, and . . . Jeff Kent?  I don't think I ever realized.

Can't help you with Methodist sluggers, but I'm quite certain the greatest Bahá'í Faith slugger of all time was Khalil Greene. Hope that helps!
In the end, my dissolution with the game of baseball will not be a result of any loss of love for the game, rather from the realization that I can no longer bear the anger its supposed stewards cause to be built up in my soul. -Lee (01/08/2013)

Rest in peace.

I just found out that he has passed away a day late-thanks for the memories Harmon--he was a joy to watch.
