Portal 2

Really, really fun video game.  Not shoot 'em up or zombies or anything frantic like that.  Just good, thought-provoking and funny.  It's probably 3 or 4 times longer than the first one, too.  Highly recommended.
Don't think twice, it's alright.

Haven't played it yet.  Fallout 3 has taken over my life.

Is it available on PS3? I just bought myself one for my birthday two weeks ago and I'm down for trying out some non-shooter games, as COD:Black Ops has reminded my why I gave up on video games a few years ago (I'm terrible at that kind of game, and it seems to make up 90% of all titles).

Yes, there is a version for PS3.  I intend to play it, but have been too busy doing science (and am still alive).

Is the DLC any good?

I haven't gotten to the DLC yet, and I've played something like 50 hours.  It's been awhile since a game has pried me away from MLB: The Show, but it's succeeded with flying colors.  Still don't feel like I've accomplished half of what you can do in that world, not even counting the 5 DLC packs.  I highly recommend that game-it's not a straight FPS like Call of Duty, although you can sorta play it that way.  It has turn-based combat too, leveling, inventory, etc.  It's a lot like an old-school PC RPG game, which I guess isn't a surprise since that's what Fallout and Fallout 2 were.

I confused Fallout 3 and Fallout:New Vegas in my mind. (I've played Fallout 3's DLC already (its fun but not essential)).

Fallout:New Vegas has some significant improvements and some neat faction things in it. I would endorse both versions. And while its kind of a FPS, its much less intense than something like Ghost Recon. If Fallout 3 has a problem its that its too easy.

This is true.  Although it was fairly difficult for me until I read some online FAQs.  I didn't know how to get followers or amass a billion stimpacks.  I haven't played New Vegas yet, a friend gave me Fallout 3 just a couple of months ago.  I'm a little behind the curve (admittedly).  Really looking forward to LA Noire though.

F:NV only has one DLC out at the moment (dead Money), and while it's not bad, it's not anything mind-blowing. The next one (Honest Hearts) comes out 5/17 and looks a hell of a lot more interesting.

Both are games I enjoyed - but Fallout3 is one of my favorite games that I've ever played. Unfortunately, if you play the GOTY edition, it is very, very glitchy and there are some near game-breaking glitches. But what makes it awesome is how expansive and open to exploration the world is.

I sank... an ungodly amount of gameplay hours into Fallout3.... I liked fallout: NV also, but the story was just missing something to me. I wasn't as captivated, but I still def enjoyed it.
