We had DSL for the first year we were married, then switched to TW. Our experience with RoadRunner has been much better than with AT&T, including Uverse. In almost four years of having TW, I think I've had to reboot the cable modem only once and the speed is always great. Obviously, someone's experience with either depends on a lot of different things, including wiring age/quality in your home and neighborhood.
AT&T tech support is worthless (not that TW's is much better). When I had trouble setting up the DSL when first moving in way back when, after two hours on the phone the girl tried to convince me that my problem was not the DSL modem and that the network cards in all three of my different computers had all failed at the exact same time. When I told her that was an unacceptable explanation and asked to speak to someone else, she said I would need to call back.
Yeah, they just told me they'd keep charging me until I returned their boxes even though the service had been cut from my apt 3 days ago.
They own the boxes and you are leasing them. Why shouldn't they keep charging you until you returned their property?
