Barmes can play third, just saying.
If Clank J doesn't start hitting, you may well see that.
I think we'd be more likely to see Hall at 3B, with Sanchez (or Kepp when he comes back) at 2B. I think they like Barmes' D at SS. But, I don't think they'll be too quick to pull the plug on CJ. Isn't that what this year is about, seeing if the young guys can figure it out?
Hall was interviewed the other night, and made a huuuuuuge point about saying how much he prefers having a settled position and prefers that settled position to be 2B. Said that he was "cursed" with the ability to play all around the infield, but 2B's where his heart is. Or words to that effect.
One man's curse could be the same man's blessing if he continues striking out 5 times more often than he gets on base. Hopefully he turns it around, though.
Made a couple of special plays in the field too, one of which was robbed by the 1B Ump.
He made the plays, but I couldn't help thinking as I watched them that a man with a little more quickness (which would not make that man particularly quick) would have made those plays with a lot less drama.
I haven't noticed any particular lack of quickness in Hall. In fact, the opposite. He seems to have good range and a solid arm.
He seemed pretty slow to me when going out for that pop-up, but perhaps that was hesitation on his part caused by the unpredictability of an onrushing FotF.
Or hearing multiple people call for the ball and he's the last one in that line.
No CJ tonight.
He was HBP last night and McTaggs speculates he's still smarting from it.
CJ back in tonight's lineup, per Footer.
And Wilton Lopez is on the DL (per McTaggart). Jose Valdez being called up from OKC.
