Read it here!

Nice job.  I'm pretty sure Vasco de Gama got close to Brazil when he swung around the Cape of Good Hope, but I don't think he ever made it to the New World.  He was a mean bastard, but it's an excellent picture.

both Limey and HudsonHawk have been on a three day bender in preparation,

If HH would alternate hands, he wouldn't end up with that bender.

Also, "Your Highness" may wear out more rewind/pause buttons than any studio movie since Basic Instinct.

Fuck all this.  It’s baseball.  Just watch it.  Enjoy the sights, the smells, the sounds.  It’s spring and it’s new and it’s right.  Even when we lose.  Especially when we lose.

Best thing I've read all spring.

Excellent job, GBB! And it was me who has suggested that Bud be in the bullpen.

Great stuff GBB, er 'Rob'!
In the end, my dissolution with the game of baseball will not be a result of any loss of love for the game, rather from the realization that I can no longer bear the anger its supposed stewards cause to be built up in my soul. -Lee (01/08/2013)

Very nice.

Going into a season like this one is shaping up to be, the equanimical approach you advocate is best.  One of the best things about not being a total fanboy is one has a sense of detachment which, to be fair -- no, to be right -- should be excercised in both good times and bad.  It's times like these I remember how much I love to watch baseball - any baseball - and how lucky I have been, for all of my life, to have a home team to root for, a team that stayed put, and all in all had management who meant well.  There are a lot of fans in more than a few cities who cannot say that, and it is a good thing to remember when the temptation to whine or call into one of the radio shows wells up.

All the Astros have asked for in return is my loyalty through thick and thin, which was easy.  I couldn't have thrown my hands up in despair or got bitter about it even if I tried.

This is something most of us already know, but I appreciate the reminder.  You may have to do it often this season.
