Weekday Day Game Radio
« on: April 06, 2011, 03:01:23 pm »
Do any Astros redio affiliates air Astros weekday day games?

I was driving around in Austin today (early Wednesday afternoon) and heard the Rangers on two different affiliates, on AM 1260 KWNX Austin and AM 1660 KRZI Waco.  Obviously this is addition to their flagship station AM 1080 KRLD.

I've never heard the Astros weekday day games any affiliate, but just on the Flagship station in Houston AM 740.

Does anyone know if there is a station out there that airs such Astros games?

I think I've heard some day games on the Temple station, but it wasn't the strongest signal.

Aren't we all contractually obligated to mention Elizabeth when you say "the Temple station"?

Pam seems to believe that radio coverage is optional. Given that everybody in town will be analyzing last Sunday's orange-and-white game for the next couple of weeks, it's unlikely that KVET will have any daytime Astros coverage.

I think KULM (98.3 FM) out of Columbus does.  It may be only weekend day games though.

Heck, KVET is one of the worst affiliates the Astros have.   While the Rangers have 3 chances each game to be online in Austin (104.9FM, 1530 and 1260 AM), the Astros have one, and one bad, chance.   I counted one year that the Astros had 3 of the first 30 games of the season aired in their entirety.   Completely unreliable and ridiculous.   I agree that KVET should air UT sports over the Astros, but talk shows, national or local, should not be aired over the Stros.   Drop the affiliation please, KVET.

Good luck on Thursday.

Astros fans- no television broadcast Thurs afternoon. Only radio.

I know it's a traveling horse shit show these days, but what other major league team in this day and age can't get all its regular season games on TV?

For some reason last night on Dish I couldn't get the Astros feed but I was watching the Fox Sports Ohio feed. Sean Casey was on so it was like listening to Lance Berkman for hours.
I love Geoff Leach.  Every day.

Yeah, I had to use the FS Ohio feed too; I didn't hear Casey because I'd muted the audio earlier. The video quality was even worse than my20pixels, which is saying a lot.

DTV had it so TW must have made that call.  Bastards.  I'm a big DTV fan now that they've given me a bunch of new stuff to keep their service for another 2 years.  They've managed to not fuck up Astros yet (unlike our cable option out here) so there's that, too

Yep, and the TW 77 reception was atrocious.  Good thing I most fast forwarded the game.

FWIW, Footer is tweeting that it will be televised on the MLB Network.

I was listening to Pandora and it pulled up Alan Jackson with an "Alysson Footer likes this artist".  I almost started to question the Infalliability Doctrine.

I'll be watching on MLB.tv.  It'll be that gawd-awful Cincy feed though.

OK, the Doctrine applies only to baseball and baseball accessories.

Temple's AM 1400 had Rush Limbaugh on today over the Astros.  Come on, Drayton.

This is one of the saving graces of the MLB AtBat app. Not on the radio? Just listen on the phone.

Watched Cincinnatti feed of Thursday's game.  Sean Casey couldn't sell me on skyline "chili".  The sight of it being prepared pretty well ruined me on any craving for snacks I may have had.
