Hamilton seems to be moving better. That was a good rebound that he just snagged on the defensive end.

This team has taken a lot of punches recently and hasn't responded well at all. They can't stop big runs.

Let me get this straight: Baylor plays thug ball all game, and Drew complains about not getting the calls?

How the fuck was that an offensive foul?  That guy was running down the court with Johnson. No way he had defensive position.

after Drew complained, BU got all of one more foul.

the importance of that win AND doing it with defense cannot be overstated.

They also showed great composure in staing in their offense despite the shots not falling.

Baylor's crowd obviously has a poor memory. taunting Lexi about his DWI is pretty "pot-kettle" after that program's recent history.

Ssshhh... they're still celebrating Dunn's scoring record.

While his girlfriend grimaced in fear of what he'd do next.

For what it's worth, the "thug" Baylor players were highly complimentary of the Longhorns in postgame comments.   And, please, I've sat in enough UT sporting events over the years to hear a ton of ignorant assed comments directed at opposing players/teams/coaches--you'll find idiots in any crowd.

It wasn't supposed to be a picnic and to the Longhorns credit, they took care of business in a big way, letting their play do the talking.

To hell with all the hyperbole, it was a good game requiring a lot of adjustments by both teams.  Texas did a superb job of neutralizing all players not named Dunn over the last ten minutes.  It was a too much like the Duke game last year in that Texas stretched the Baylor zone then attacked the rim after every shot.  It's a risk you run with zone, and Barnes strategized on that opportunity extremely well.  Better yet, the players executed the plan that much better.

Odds are we play again on Thursday, as long as on Wednesday Baylor doesn't revert to the turnover machine it has been for too much of the season.

Were you a little surprised to see Drew and Barnes yucking it up prior to tipoff, given the animosity that exists between them, if we're to believe what's been published?  As a guy who has always respected what Barnes has accomplished (and who fears what they still might accomlish), it's always bothered me a bit to read about a personal rivalry that goes beyond the standard.  The assumption that Drew cheats is one we'll probably have to live with until the hammer comes down, if it ever does.

We hear the same rumors time and time again of pending doom, so we wait and we wait to see what everyone seems to believe will happen to us.  Until then, what do we do except demand that he comply and not dig us a grave from which we'll never emerge?

i just saw a snippet of Drew greeting Barnes on TV. i have heard those rumors about animosity but do not know if they are true.

Perry Jones was pretty much invisible Sat, which surprised me. that is the downside of having a guy like Dunn. you could feel his frustration rising after Johson took over guarding him. his whirling dervish wild shot epitomized his frustration.

Dunn misses Tweety, the team misses Udoh and to a surprising part, Lomers.  Dude was a wall in terms of clearing out sides/setting screens.  Of course, he tended to foul out in record time doing just about anything else.  Thompson was a beast Saturday, but he had some help being one.  EDIT:  By that I mean from his fellow frontliners, not the officiating.

Perry Jones has done that on and off all year. He'll show up big for a bit, then quietly disappear for long stretches. The coaches have been working with him on being more assertive all season, and it's helped some, but he's still got a lot of room for improvement. I hope he sticks around long enough (even just one more year) for Baylor to benefit from some of that.

Ybbo is right -- Dunn (and the entire team) misses Tweety Carter. The offense hasn't run smoothly all season. That and the inability to rebound out of the zone (despite the much-advertised collective wingspan of Acy, Anthony Jones and PJ3) have been frustrating. Kind of amazing, really, that for all this team's struggles, they're still only going to be one of the first few teams out of the tournament. Five years ago, it would have taken everything going RIGHT for the team to sniff the tournament bubble.

To his credit, he hasn't had one player kill another. Hadn't tried to paint any deadmen as drug dealers.

If I saw Scott Drew on fire, unless he had his hands up in the air complaining about the disparity in the amount of fire between me and him, I wouldn't recognize him anyway, so I'd probably piss on him to put it out.

Depends upon what the gifts are but sure, TB, it is hard to fathom a coach's not having some idea something's up.  Had he been wearing sweater vests all this time, though, the worst we expletive throwing fine Christian institution gradudates might expect is a fine and two game suspension for our Drew of Arc.

Had he been wearing sweater vests all this time, though, the worst we expletive throwing fine Christian institution gradudates might expect is a fine and two game suspension for our Drew of Arc.

NCAA is going to call down their wrath upon Tressel, especially after the school's laughable "self-imposed sanctions".

Vegas has 6:1 odds that Tressel doesn't coach during 2011.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

If the sanctions on Tressel are increased, you can be pretty sure that at least some of those five players will head off to the NFL rather than server their 5-game suspensions. Hell, they may do that anyway.
