Aberlour A'bunadh.  The Batch No. 28 is outstanding.  It's even better with Cuban Montecristo No. 3.  I highly recommend it to all of you.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Better than Cutty Sark?

A scotch snob friend of mine is big on Port Ellen and Laguvalen (sp?).  I told him I drank a bunch of Glenlivet last night and he told me I was a fucking dumbass with no redeeming qualities.

I don't give a fuck if they think Glenlivet is the Budweiser of Scotch, that 18 year old stuff is damned fine. Distinctive? Not necessarily. Accessible to a neophyte? Yes, sir. Turning up your nose at Glenlivet is foolish.

Along with milk and cookies, in my household Santa appreciates being left a dram of Lagavulin 16.

Hey. That's not patchouli.

You'd fucking know.

I have a special last-resort bottle of booze I have carried with me since college.   It's an unopened bottle of Glenlivet from 1959 that my grandfather bought in Europe.

I'm sure it's undrinkable, but I'm saving it for what is sure to be the shittiest day of my life.

Its probably great - unopened spirits will last pretty much forever with no change in taste (for better or worse).

We'll find out someday, hopefully not for a very long time.

The Lagavulin 18-Year is by far my favorite scotch.  It's a bit pricey, so I'm really hoping Santa got my wish list this year.
Don't think twice, it's alright.
