World Series Game Four
« on: October 31, 2010, 07:07:21 pm »
FOX shows us how motherfucking stupid they are (I know, I know) by declaring that the winner of tonight's game will win the World Series.

So let me get this right...the Rangers tie it up tonight, making it a 3-game Series withOUT home field advantage, that's it, it's over, hand them the trophy?

I really never expected to like the Giants as much as I do. At least it isn't the Dodgers against the Rangers.

I always liked Huff. I don't hate the Giants and they're N.L. -- that trumps the A.L. DFW Rangers of Arlington.

The thing that pisses me off the most about the DFW Rangers of Arlington is those five letters across their chest. I get the Arizona Diamondbacks, I get the Minnesota Twins, but come on, the fuckin' Rangers, the 2nd MLB team in the state, have no right to claim that name on their jerseys. It's the stupidly fueled arrogance of claiming those five letters that makes me hate them. Not their proximity, not their league, not their Cub-like history of futility, not even the insufferable fans, it is the fucking state's name, that's what I really hate.

Rangers can't afford to lose Ogando with that shaky pen.

I don't mind either team.  There really isn't one player on either team that I particularly despise, so I've decided to root for the Giants mainily because I like Posey a lot, they're an NL team, and I don't want the Rangers to become another annoying franchise for the DFW fanbase.

How awesome was that couple's high-five in slow motion in the seats behind home plate?

Did anyone go to the WS games in Houston?  If so, do you mind saying how much you paid for tickets?  Just wondering because my inlaws are at the game tonight, and they say they paid $500/ticket.  I seem to remember looking online during the Astros Series and seeing $2000/ticket and up.

I went to game 4 and had tickets for game 5.  for some reason i'm thinking they were 125/each in section 330 something.

They could be the "Dallas Texans", ya know.

I went and paid $125/ticket.  That was face value, and was set by MLB.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

I don't have a problem with just the name. But, as the junior team and 2nd team in the state, they were being giant dicks by assuming the mantle of the "states" team. I thought that the day they announced the name.

Seems to me, we spent something like $800/ticket for Game Three and $300/ticket for Game Four, but I could totally be making that up.

In '08, we paid $225 apiece for lower box outfield along the 1st base line, about 15 rows up. I also got high upper deck about the same area for $100. Both face value.

A friend of mine used to date a girl who worked in promotions for Fox and she hooked us up with the two comps.  The price wasn't lack of market.

2 tickets for Game 1 in Chicago (approx 15 rows up behind first base) cost me $0.00 (although I did have to spend about $700 for a plane ticket and $150 for hotel).  Gotta love happy ex cleints with connections!
