stRangers VS Yankers in Arlington Game 1 ALCS
« on: October 15, 2010, 07:59:06 pm »
The Metroplex Rangers put a 3 spot down in the bottom of the first and hold the 3-0 lead in the top of the third.
Everyone's talking, few of them know
The rest are pretending, they put on a show
And if there's a message I guess this is it
Truth isn't easy, the easy part's shit

I think the playoffs, and the LCS especially, are formal occasions and teams shouldn't wear their Sunday softball unis.

Sabathia strikes out Hamilton on a called strike three to end the 4th. Rangers 5, Yankees 0.

Hamilton shows a bit of his ass, flicking hit helmet and batting gloves towards the dugout.

So, was whoever-it-was out at the plate on that passed ball in the first inning? I didn't think so, but I'm frequently wrong.
I remember all the good times me 'n Miller enjoyed

Yes he was out, but only because Cruz made a shitty effort with his slide.

And Gardner makes an amazing head first slide at first to be safe on an infield hit! Then the captain hits a double to score the fleet footed Gardner to make it Yanks 2 the Rangers 5. My God, the Yanks only need three to tie!! The Yanks only need three to tie!!! And thats all for Wilson, the bum couldn't make it out of the 8th.

Ordinarily, with a three-run lead in the 8th, I'd feel pretty comfortable. But with the Yankees involved, I somehow expect the gods to reach down from Mount Olympius and screw this up.

Well, this is good. I now know that there's no point in watching the Rangers screw this shit up. I'll still derive much joy from watching the Phillies stomp the Yankees' shit.

That JoJo Waddy guy is a managing fool. I can't believe how great he orchestrated the comeback.  Washington is totally over matched.

JoJo Waddy

Excellent. Took me a couple of mental sounding-outs to figure it out, but I eventually got it.

Ok, how the fuck did the Yanks come back?  Was at the homecoming football game (it is Friday night in Tejas).

Wasn't just the bullpen. Brutal 8th inning. Brutal.

Stupid Rangers fans thought they had the game won.  Many of the "fans" up in that part of Texas don't realize that a game's not won until either the time is out or they are out of outs.  Never assume your team will win.  Never.

They all thought that with Wilson and Lee pitching they couldn't lose.  They didn't read Noe's warnings about bullpens.  Fools.

Too bad for Wilson, he pitch a pretty good game. Maybe Washington should have left him in to finish the 8th.

Or, you know, bring in his best reliever instead of four other guys when the shit is hitting the fan.

That pen is probably a little less shaky than Wright was to start the eighth. The Yankees feast on this sort of thing.

The Yankees have some good hitters.

This is true, but the Rangers bullpen isn't exactly lights-out, either. It's a bad matchup that I think is going to be the difference in the series.
