complications of Alzheimer's disease at 76

Riding/driving to school listening to Stevens and Pruett every morning is a fond memory
I wish the first word I had said when I was born was 'quote'. Then before I die, I could say, 'unquote.' --Steven Wright

That's sad for his family.  Can't say I ever cared for their humor, but they were successful and popular; almost anyone's death is always very sad.

It pains me to hear anyone passing of Alzheimer's.

It seems unfortunately ironic given how crazy Mr. Pruett has gone.

I never liked Mark Stevens at all.  Jim Pruett was only passable in terms of listening to him.  But Stevens was never someone I could stomach for more than a few seconds.  But I did have one character I liked on their show: Eddie "The Boner" Sanchez.  I don't know who did the voice but whatever that guy said just made me laugh all the time.  It was a not something I can say I was proud I enjoyed, just had to give that character his due as a funny radio guy.

I used to live across the street (well, behind the vacant lot that was across the street) from the KLOL studio in the crime-free Montrose.  They parked the party bus about 5 feet from my bedroom window.  At any rate, between the party bus, my old roadie days, or just hanging out in bars, I used to hang with many folks from the old KLOL.  I drank beer with Outlaw Dave, watched baseball with Kevin "I'm Kevin, and I just don't know anymore" Dorsey, and Dayna Steele...well, we just won't go there.  I met Stevens and Pruett a couple of times, and went to their Holiday Ball once.  I thought they were both over the top, certifiably nuts.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Never met Grego, as far as I know.  I think Locke Siebenhausen was at the Ball I attended, but I don't remember much other than it was decidedly *not* rated PG-13.

Forget that. I want to hear stories about Crash.
I remember all the good times me 'n Miller enjoyed
Up and down the M1 in some luminous yo-yo toy
But the future has to change - and to change I've got to destroy
Oh look out Lennon here I come - land ahoy-hoy-hoy

Outlaw Dave was one of the coolest, laid back, have a beer with guys I ever met.

Eddie Sanchez was an actual guy who actually used to mow lawns. A friend of mine dated and then married "Kathy" who was for a time the head Pruette.  As such I got to hang around some things I probably wouldn't have had access to otherwise. S&P were completely different guys off air from what you heard on the radio.

I thought Brian Shannon was the voice of The Boner?

I found this interesting.

His wake was held at Griff's on Friday night.  By all accounts a well attended and wild time.

I was on the physically unable to perform list.
