Igor images

Thought some of you might find these interesting.

The MODIS Terra imager passed directly over H.Igor yesterday, right as it was peaking with 150mph winds.  This sensor captures full color visible images at 250m resolution.  Click and wait (the image is a bit over 7mb):

Equally interesting but for different reasons, the GOES-15 post-launch test continues with test results being posted to the Proving Grounds.  As a part of the test series, the Lockheed Martin engineers occasionally will kick on the sensor's full image capture capability to perform calibration and stress tests.  They did so yesterday and have posted the results.  Here's something called a Super Rapid Scan loop of Igor.  Resolution is at 1km and images were captured every 55 seconds instead of the normal 5 or 15 minute interval.  You can see the image capture rate drop from 5 minutes to 55 seconds as they initiate SRS operations.  Careful before you click, the loop is 38.5mb.

That every 55 seconds capture is awesome.

I may have married the wrong girl.  She keeps correcting me when I call this storm Eye-Gore.

She probably doesn't appreciate great knockers either.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

She must pronounce Frankenstein wrong, too.

You should warn people when you post something NSFW...

Damn you!  It's too close to lunch to put images like this in my mind....

I thought that was going to be about this.

The rest are pretending, they put on a show
And if there's a message I guess this is it
