Astros @ FTCs 9-7-10

Astros lead 1-0 on a triple by Bourn followed by a Kepp RBI single.

Lee has every right to be pissed.  He was safe.  Not even close.

Damn, did Pence stop for a hot dog before going after that ball in the corner?  I know he failed geometry in Jr. High, but damn.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

i've heard this gripe about them before
and heard it for myself for the first time yesterday

usually i find them to be relatively innocuous

try listening to them cream their pants about that homerun while stuck in traffic on IH 10.  They made me want to hit the car in front of me.  I hate them.

No, you are not exaggerating.  I think they are worse than Milo.  And they are not even in the closet about being homers for the cubs.

In case anyone's curious here, Tri-City (the first Astros farm team to make the playoffs since Salem in 2007) is now in the 10th inning of Game 1, tied 9-9. They were up 7-2 early, then down 9-7 entering the bottom 9th got a 2-run homer from Chris (?) Wallace to tie it. Best of 3 series, with this being their only home game.

Good for Wall-e as he was called at UH.

So did Wallace (the Astro) uncork on his first career tater?  Didn't get to see it.

Straightaway CF, probably 10-15 ft beyond the 408 sign.

And serendipitously the ball bounced back onto the field and was relayed to the bench.

is that unusual? most at least average runners should do this.

Was not descriptive enough.  It was very shallow LF and he was flying to barely beat it

And the Valleycats win it, 10-9, on a walk-off HR in bottom 11th by Daniel Adamson, who had entered the game as a pinch runner. Game 2 is 7pm tomorrow at Batavia.

OK.  I have to give air to this:
