Astros at D-Bags, Sept 4
« on: September 04, 2010, 07:36:08 pm »
Both teams put traffic on the bases in the 1st, and come up with a run each.

FWIW, Norris pitching, Lee manning first, J-Mike in LF, JFK manning 2nd.
Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.

Ballsy of DoRay to speculate that the single past Lee to move the runner to third might be because of a "lack of athleticism." I'd like to see Lee have an alley chat with him about that.
I'm in love with rock and roll and I'll be out all night.

Thanks for the PBP, Limey. I'm still catching up to things.

I consider it a moral victory that the Owls stayed within a factor of 2 of the Longhorns.

Top 8:

Heilman replaces Saunders.
Castro (hitting for Q) hits the first pitch to CF.
Sanchez smites one to deep RCF, runs through the puny stop sign at 2nd, and beats the relay by a cunt hair.   Waltzes home on a wild pitch.
Bourn whiffs on a good change.
JFK lines one into LF.
Pence taking a good approach (credit where credit's due) - good cleavage shot on a foul ball - cracks one down the LF line passed the 3Ber, Kepp couldn't score, 2nd and 3rd now.
KA-BONNNGGGGGGGG!!!  Three-run jack.  First pitch.  No doubt.
Astros hit for the cycle.
Heilman done (no shit), Vasquez on.
J-Mike whiffs.

Yeah. Why the hell isn't this game on tv?
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Bot 8:

Wallace replaces Lee at 1B
Roberts walks.
For those of you who follow the EPL, Melancon looks like that chippy Welsh fuck Craig Bellamy.
Parra, bunting at first but now swinging, whiffs comedically.
Abad in to pitch as a PHer comes up for AZ.
Brad Allen (lefty) was announced, then pulled back when Mills made his move.  Everyone working hard.
Ryal (righty) fouled a high, hanging curve, then grounds back to the mound.  Good hard slide stopped JFK turning 2.
Drew pops up to Kepp.

What's on FSH?  A local station usually picks up the feed for Astros games, but they're showing some other crap tonight. I wad wondering if I was missing a decent CF game too

Rosales on to pitch (RHP)
CJ having a good at-bat, but lifts a lazy fly to short CF.
Blum PHing, rips one just foul up the RF line, and another, Hoggle is corralling foul balls down there, looping liner straight to the RFer.
Castro decides to take a pitch or 4, all of which are balls.
Sanchez bunts past the pitcher for a hit, smart play as the infield was back. 1st and 2nd.
T2 emerging from the bullpen, proof that left-handedness is a guaranteed job for life in the bigs.
Bourn gets one high and tight of the bat nub, then hits an easy ground to SS.

Bot 9:

Beardon Lyon on the mound. 2-3-4 due up.
Young reaches out for a good pitch and dumps it over SS for a knock.
Johnson, bunting, may have been clipped on the pant leg by the first pitch down and in (not called), rolled a bunt right up the 1B line, Wallace takes charge and tags him out.
LaRoche gets ahead in the count 2-0, hits a sloooow roller to Sanchez (shifted way over from SS), who puts him out while the runner makes 3B.
Reynolds lines the first pitch to CF.  BALLGAME!
