I must be living in some kind of time warp. I was going to start one (late, but start one anyway) and my broadcast is two innings behind. It's delayed somehow on my SD and I can't watch my HD right now. I keep waiting for Rod Serling to step in.

Tremendous outing by Happ so far. Westbrook, too, for that matter.

Despite what my lying TV says, it's 1-0 Astros through 7. Happ has walked one and allowed one hit, to Randy Winn. Pence is 2 for 3 with the run, Wallace is 2 for 2.

Very nice to see the young guys go the other way when the pitch warrants it.

I'm glad to see him break out some. I think he's going to be a good one, hitting for average anyway.

Manzella's hustle turns Ryan's hesitation into an infield single, Wallace to third.

If he can figure out how to flip it up into the Crawfords, he'll get his HRs too.  Maybe Berkman will come back as assistant hitting coach and teach him that during the off-season.

Yeah, but I'd hate to mess with that line drive swing he's got. I don't think he had a lot of power in the minors, seems like his numbers were mostly doubles. I really like his approach at the plate.

24 doubles, 18 hrs, and .508slg in AAA this year.  He's got plenty of power and the ability to hit for average.  Just let Baggy work on him a bit.

That's better than what I was remembering, which was something like 40 doubles and 18 HR. Good.

Sanchez went after that ball like it was a no-hitter.  I like.

Great game by Happ.  Very great game.

Dear Karl Ravech:

You normally don't suck, but asking people if they could imagine Philly's rotation if Happ had stayed with Halladay, Hamels, and Oswalt... well, that sucked.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

Phils' GM sucks.  Don't you know the Cardinals could have got Ryan for Oswalt straight up if the Phils had not overpaid?  Ed Wade is a sucker.

I snaffled gleach's seats.  Great game.  Love 2-hour games.  Love 2-hit shutouts.  Love shitting on the Jakes' fading playoff hopes.  Being put on the kiss cam with a girl who wasn't my date was a little awkward.

He threw quite a lot of pitches to get through the first couple.  I think Pissant Nouveau saw at least 10 leading off the 1st.  But he settled, got some help from the D and really had the Jakes confused.

Fuck the Jakes.

what a masterful game!

Just checked (because I wasn't sure):  1 walk.

Only 3 baserunners all night, and the defense turned two very slick double plays.  That's dominance!

Fingers crossed that Wandy Rodriguez will be the 1st Astros LHP to throw complete game allowing two hits or less since J.A. Happ had a two-hitter in MMPUS on 8/30/10.

And considering Wolf, Hampton, Johnson, Pettitte good games, I am kindof surprised it hasn't happened since 1988.

BTW, maybe I am a little slow, but it sure seemed like Castro had a really good game behind the plate last night. He looked very solid.
