Amen to this.  My nephew's grandfather (not my father, the other one) is referred to as Papparoni.  And they're not really Italian.  I always envision the day, 20 years hence, when this young man has to tell a friend that "Papparoni" has cancer.

Great news, ETA, congrats.  We're probably 5 to 10 years away from that, but I'm looking forward to it. 
I was thinking, since I have step kids whose father is still involved with them (and would, of course, receive the Grandpa moniker), that I'd like for any grand kids to call me Pops, a la Speed Racer...

Thanks, everyone. I'm not sure I will ever worry about what she calls me, I just hope I get to hear it a lot. It has been a long time since I got to hold the baby. It reminds me of a lot of wonderful times.

As for golf, gleach has taught me how to handle the little girl on the course....
