Wallace to start tonight?
« on: July 31, 2010, 11:00:39 am »
They just said so on MLB Network, FWIW

On the Express Roster he is listed as "Reassigned."
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Here we go. Time to see if he can rake against big-league pitching. Let's hope so!

If he doesn't homer in his first three ABs, I demand a refund.

And prospects.

No kidding.  Someone better make a huge sacrifice to the BBGs.  Must involve dead chickens and roses on the front.

It is now official. Berkman and cash to Yankees for RHP Mark Melanon and IF Jimmy Paredes. Astros purchase 1b Brett Wallace from Round Rock.

Seeing Roy in a Phillies uni wasn't as weird as I thought it would be.

Seeing Lance in a Yankees uni will likely cause my brain to seize.

Also, my kid is a filthy urchin child and should probably stop reading over my shoulder now.

Doesn't seem to bad for a rental.  Paredes looks to project to be a utility infielder or better.  Scouting report on Melanon:

Quote
Here's what Mike Axisa had to say about Melancon's repertoire:

Melancon regained his pre-TJ stuff by the end of 2008, sitting 92-94 and touching 96 with good life on his fastball. His out pitch is a hard 12-to-6 curveball that he can drop in for strike one or use to get chases for strike three. He toyed with a splitter in college, however the Yanks had him scrap in favor of a true changeup that is now a usable third pitch.

It wont be Wallace's first appearance at Minute Maid, he played in the 2007 College Classic, went 6 for 13 iagainst A&M, UofH and Vandy.

If I still lived in Houston I'd probably run out and get tickets for tonight.

How about Braveheart?

He is seven feet tall, and shoots fireballs from his eyes, and bolts of lightning from his arse.
Today seems like a good day to burn a bridge or two
