Bottom 1:
Andrus - Single up the middle.  Kepp stops it but no play at 1st
Young - Fly out to cf
Kinsler - (Andrus stole 2nd on first pitch) Pop up to 1st, runner does not advance.
Guerrero - 5-3

0-0 after 1

Top 2:
Lee - Fly out to CF
Pence - hard hit 6-3
Blum - double down the 3rd base line (Zambrano thinks Young should have dived)
Johnson - solid line drive up the middle scoring Blum.  Scored a double, but it seems questionable.  CF didnt come up cleanly with the ball.  Not sure how fast Johnson is.  Perhaps thats why.
Q - Tough sonofabitch.  Welcome back.  Soft line out to 2nd

1-0 Good guys

Bot 2
Hamilton - Single to RF.  Pence played it, uh, oddly?  Slid/fell well before the ball got to him.  Reached up and grabed it before it bounced over him.
Cruz - K swinging
Smoak - FC-6, Hamilton out at 2nd.  Smoak to 1B
Ramirez - 5-4

1-0 Good Guys after 2

Oddly? He's just a goofball. He fell down and then knocked the ball down.

Top 3:
JB - Excellent opposite field poke to RF for a single.
Bourn  - (JB steals 2nd.  Bad throw, but good looking speed from JB!) 6-3.  JB to 3rd
Kepp - Infield in.  Fisted.  Foul out to 1st.
Lance - UNBELIEVEABLE catch by Andrus in shallow center.  Diving, going away.  Awesome

Bottom 3:
Borbon - 6-3
Andrus - Berkman gets a bit of revenge.  Nice diving grab on bouncer down the 1B line.
Young - 10 pitch at bat.  Single to LF
Kinsler - K looking, and tossed for showing up the ump!

1-0 Good Guys, End of 3

Thats it for me if anyone wants to pick up pbp

If there was, it was one way.  They had the camera on Kinsler the whole time, and he didnt say a word.  Ump fined him after the helmet toss, then with the shin guard toss came the ejection

JD noted Kinsler didn't say a word, and replays seemed to indicate the same thing.

More slapdickery from the Astros on the bases.  Blum gets caught in a rundown while Lee made it to 3B on the Blum single.

I thought he might have said something on the previous low pitch (the 3rd pitch of the AB, I think).  But I am not sure.

Johnson had a similar play earlier tonight on a ground ball to third. Why not simply tag the runner coming from 2nd? He's only five feet away.

Is it too much to ask MLB.TV that you should allow the game to stay on long enough to hear the postgame interview with Jackson before you cut off the feed?  Geez...

Mini-drama behind the plate. A 96 mph fb from Ogando got away from him, which Ramirez failed to catch. The ball nicked the HPU on the mask, resulting in one of his crewmates presumably saying something to Ramirez about not catching the ball. Ramirez and Ron Washington took exception, only for Michael Young to step in and play peacemaker.

Booojwah walks to load the bases for Bourn.

I mean, fuck me, if people are going to be out there fucking up (and getting four hits in a game) can't they at least be in their 20s? Having as much as a third of the lineup be new blood has made it fun to watch this sad team again.

Hamilton pops up to Navarro, but Navarro drops the ball as he reaches into his glove for around the horn. Ump calls Hamilton safe.

Are you fucking kidding me?

WTF Navarro.

Dude was clearly out. These fat motherfuckers get paid WAY too much money to fuck up calls like that. Goddam I get tired of seeing this sort of bullshit. It's edging ever closer to the NBA every season.

Yeah, twas a catch. Fucking bullshit.

Nelson Cruz inexplicably bunts a pop bunt to Berkman. Hamilton barely gets back to first in time to avoid the double play.

Passed ball by Q allows Hamilton to advance to second.

Smoak grounds out to Keppinger, Hamilton to third. Two outs.

Let's go Lindstrom!

On the other hand, you could simply make the fucking catch, and then throw it around the horn. Sort of like the kids in Little League do.

YES!!!

Lindstrom induces a lazy fly to Pence to win the game and end the Rangers win streak.

He did make the catch, that's the point. He dropped the ball as he transfered it to his throwing hand. The batter was plainly out.

Raise your hand if you thought Pence might drop that one. Slapdickery night at the Ballpark in Arlington!

"Plainly" is a stretch. Do I think it was a catch? Yes. But, still, it was shabby fielding, and we should expect better from a major league shortstop.

I watched it again on dvr and have to agree with you. Plainly is a stretch. I can see that call going either way because Navarro wasn't actually reaching into his glove when he dropped the ball. It looked like it could've been one continuous event in which he didn't actually control the ball in his glove. Fortunately it don't make a shit either way.

Of course I did.

On the Navarro thing his body had plainly relaxed as he reached into the glove to retrieve the ball. This is when he dropped the ball. I mean, this is a catch 1000 times out of 1000. The umpire that made the safe call was fucking standing behind the play and had no view. The other umpires were obviously delirious with the thought of red meat in their immediate future and were not fucking paying attention. It was not a clean play on Navarro's part, obviously, but a professional umpiring crew would make the correct call. No, it made no difference in the outcome of the game but I am tired of watching shit umpiring. The league is becoming the NBA. The bush league bullshit the umpiring crew pulled on the Rangers after their catcher got crossed up and the ball glanced off the home plate umpire's mask was no different. Do your fucking job correctly and shut the fuck up you fat, overpaid motherfuckers.

I just saw Mariano Rivera strike out James Loney to end the game by throwing three straight balls that each was called a strike by noted fuckwit Phil Cuzzi. Loney pushed back a little to this overpaid dickhead on his way to the dugout and got thrown out after the game was over. I'm telling you, this NBA style umpiring is going to ruin the game if someone more responsible than the antisocial mouthbreather who's in charge of the league doesn't step up and do something.

You know you have a problem with the umpiring when the "best umpire in the league" makes arguably the worst call in history.

It's a shame that a league that's actually doing most things right otherwise is about to fuck itself by having a bunch of billionaires lock out the players in a year's time.
