Astros vs. Gints, 6/23
« on: June 23, 2010, 07:24:42 pm »
I hate friggin' fan interference (not that it affected Berkman getting a double though)...

Lee drives him in.

End 1: SF 0, HOU 1
In the end, my dissolution with the game of baseball will not be a result of any loss of love for the game, rather from the realization that I can no longer bear the anger its supposed stewards cause to be built up in my soul. -Lee (01/08/2013)

Kepp put one off the wall in left with the bases juiced, scoring 3 (getting caught in a rundown just after  Bourgeois scored).

End 2: SF 0, HOU 4

Brett Myers going postal at the plate tonight.  2-2, R, RBI.

B4, 2 outs, Myers on 1B: SF 0, HOU 5

Bourgeois strikes out looking on an iffy 3-2 pitch.

So do we have do win the third match to advance to the knockout round?  And can Drayton sell more tickets that way?
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

Not if the Dojers tie or lose by fewer than 12.   Drayton only makes money if the game is suspended (again) and goes three days.

Cue Benny Hill...  3 straight errors to start the T5 and then typical Astros attempted rundown where batter beats the throw to 1B and runner beats the throw back to 2B, run scores.

T5, 0 out, runners at 1B and 2B: SF 2, HOU 5

Gints load the bases, but mercifully fly out to end the top of the inning with only 2 runs...

Middle 5: SF 2, HOU 5

And only one of the errors was on one of the young guys.  Can't even blame it on the learning curve, nerves, rebuilding, or something.  It was just sloppy.

CJ got credited with a throwing error (after the 2B fielding error) on the ball that Berkman should have dug out at 1B.

I just went back and looked at that.  Wow.  And... where's the error on Pence booting the ball?

Taggart just tweeted that Spaz leads the NL in infield hit with 15. Without them, he's hitting .227.

Thought they called that a 2B + E?  Could very well be wrong though...

Definitely should have been, but for now on Gameday it is listed as a 3B, no error.  2 errors on Johnson, and 1 on Myers this game.
