Read it and weep.  Unconsolably.

Any Series Preview (or anything else) with a Charles Nelson Reilly/Match Game reference in it is a good series preview (or anything else.)  I believe this is chiseled in stone formica somewhere.

Should be a perfectly dreary weekend for Astros fans, and I think you captured that.  I am increasingly fascinated by the difference between how many fans the Astros officially say are at the games, and how many are actually there.  There were supposedly 26,000 paying dupes customers at last night's "contest", but the park looked and sounded about as lively as a morgue.  Actually, a morgue might have been more fun. A lot more fun.

Good work, as usual.

So I watched the first inning of last nights game.  Saw how wicked Jimenez was.  Saw Oswalt have his Oswalt Inning early (knowing full well he would pitch well the rest of the night).  So as I watched, I noticed my wife was headed out the door.  "Where you going honey?" asked I.  "Shopping" she replies. "Can I come with you?" asked I.  Wife stops dead in her tracks.  Takes one look at the television, then looks at me, then back at the television, then back at me.  Has this very perplexed look on her face and then says "Sure".

I actually got up, turned the game off and happily went shopping with my wife last night.

good job, Limey.

Noe, i was the polar opposite of you. i turned it on late, saw Belisle getting ready to pitch that inning and watched the bottom of the 8th. that was it for me.

As one of the spectators from last night (tickets given to us) I must say the crowds are just there for the beer.  Unless you happen to go to one of the concession stands and they are out of beer.  (Yes, Pam lost a chance to get some cash out of someone.)

But anyway, there was a couple in front of us that was more interested in taking pictures of themselves than watching the game.  Some dude in the club level (I think it was the club level) had a huge freaking glove, which made a different lady take a picture of that.  Two sections over security had a "talking-to" with a customer.  I wish they had taken the guy out because he seemed like an asshole to me.  A guy couple rows behind us yelled at the people in our section trying to start the wave it was too early in the game to do so.  Thought that was funny.  There is some good people watching in-between innings, definitely better than anything the Astros provide.  That stupid hot sauce race needs to go away.  It is embarrasing.

But the best or worst part of the night, was the guy that walked up to me and told me my nuts smelled good for a girl.  Then started to blame the catchers for Roy's losses.  Pretty much seemed to want JR back.  Thankfully, he walked away when he realized he couldn't change my mind about Roy and the team.  Don't think I'll buy the cinnamon glazed pecans again if that is the response I get.

Oh, and 3 of the 4 games I've gone to this year, I have not sat in my seat.  Lots of good seats available in the lower levels that aren't being used.

Add to this losing 10-15 lbs of sweat and you're at a Marlins game.

If they would only add in some tasers....maybe have one of the packets fall down and start squirting hot sauce out the top...

More than one, and for more than one reason.

Unfortunately the tranquility of the empty stands makes it also easier to hear the idiots who feel the need to scream something moronic at every at bat.  Actually heard someone scream (clearly) "We need a pitching, not a belly-itcher" last night in the 8th or 9th.  Incredible.

Good work btw Limey.

BTW, I probably should've mentioned that I expect to see at least one perfect game this weekend.

At  Least.  One.

Check the timing of my post vs. the Astros' first hit.

This shit doesn't happen by itself.

Thanks.  Just wish I could've worked in this.

That is magnificent.
