Of stomach cancer. He'd been undergoing treatment at M.D. Anderson. I was fortunate enough to see Rainbow in '78. Blackmore and Dio were terrific together.

How about that huh?  I love Rainbow, but wasn't a Dio fan one way or the other, but somehow this really makes me feel old.  I hope he went quietly, he brought a lot of happiness to a lot of people.

Sad news. A friend of mine who's a big fan met Dio on several occasions, and he's taking it hard as well.
