Already had one "Bourn Ultimatum" reference.  But fuck them, he walked.

If it's any consolation, these guys sound like they'd rather be rearranging their sock drawer than covering this game.

They just said, "Hunter Pence, the hottest hitter in baseball."  Personally I don't see why anyone thinks he is hot.

That's the game DFW is getting. Because Dallas is much closer to Tampa or Seattle than Houston you know.

Bourn walked, then stole 2nd. Matsui K'd. Berkman grounded out to Huff at 1B, Bourn to 3B.  Longhaired boy WP and Bourn came in.  I think the pitch should have been blocked by the C and been scored a PB.

bourn did it all

walk, stolen base, advanced on lance's out, scored on a wild pitch.

I'd rather have a hit. Lance watched the fastball, and then swung and missed at the two sliders.

So DoRay saying Bidge's team won the state championship today (with Drayton in attendance).  Also said that the team won the semifinal(?) game when the younger Biggio was HBP, allowing the winning run to score with the bases loaded.

So should Berkman have had the foul prior to the Uribe 2-run jack?

It wasn't easy, but if he had taken a better route so that he was at the fence waiting for it I think he could have had it. But it wasn't an easy play.

Yep, they finally found a way to beat St. Pius (yesterday) the way you described.  St. Thomas beat Houston Christian today for the title.

Rohlinger GO to Berkman – nice back hand
Lincecum strikes out
Rowand singles
Torres lines to right field corner, Pence gets to it quickly, fires to Kaz, relays to Quintero, nails Rowand at the plate.    Nice.

Bourn – infield single up the middle – Uribe gets to it pretty quickly behind second in the dirt, but Bourn is just too fast
Bourn runs on a 3-0 pitch (called strike) and takes second
Matsui – GO 5-3, Bourn has to hold at second
Berkman – flies to short LF, Bourn still at second
Michaels – walks (nice at bat, a couple fouls and works Lincecum to a full count before walking)
Pence -  flies out to CF

wasted opportunity.

2.62 ERA and Roy will be 2-5.  I'd want to be traded too.

I think it would be only fair if they threw a HR pitch to our light-hitting catcher after we threw one to their light-hitting shortstop.

Or maybe not.

So you just have babysitters on retainer that you can call up on a moment's notice?

No, we go the other way.  We get a babysitter and then at the last second try to figure out what the fuck we're going to do.  There have been times that we've been leaving the neighborhood still with no idea where we were going.

Go down to UT and watch the end of the 5A track championships.

Of course, your wife may not think that's the coolest idea in the world.

Did anybody else think that Kaz got fucked on the 3-0 pitch? Sure looked like a ball to me. But I still can't figure out how Bourn didn't wind up on 3rd after that PB.

Same pitch as the previous one that was called a ball.  Still...

It's not, but it's Wilke's trapezoid strikezone right now.

He fouled off ball 4 a couple of times there, but they were up so it was worth swinging at 'em.  Good battle.

Brian Wilson in for Lincecum

Feliz – works a walk after being down 0-2
Quintero – strikes out
Blum pinch hits for Manzella – flies out to Uribe (caught just behind 2nd)
Sullivan pinch hits for Sampson – beats out infield single (sharply hit ball bobbled at third by Rohlinger)
Bourn – walks on 5 pitches
Matsui – strike one (low outside edge of the trapezoid), strike two swinging, ball outside (beyond the trapezoid), ball high, foul, foul, foul, foul tip in and out of Molina’s glove, ball inside and high, foul, foul, foul, foul, (maybe another one in here), flies out to LF

Final 2-1 Giants.

Assuming Wilke thought they were balls.  Juneberno, but you don't allow Blue to make the call, if you can hit it, swing the bat.

Anyone see Norm MacDonald live?  He's at Cap City tonight and we're looking for something to do.

I saw him a few years ago in Vegas and he sucked. He didn't seem to even have an act; he just went onstage and rambled about whatever came to mind, and bantered with the drunks. Maybe he's better now.

I feared as much.  He was sold out for both shows, so we may never know.

I was on the first base line in the lower section (103) for the game. Mills missed one obvious bunting situation. I would have had Keppinger hit for Matsui in the ninth, although he was playing the R/L percentages, so I can't fault him there, especially with a 15 pitch AB. I don't recall ever seeing a pitcher survive a 39 pitch inning unscathed.
