Astros @ Hotlanta, May 1
« on: May 01, 2010, 12:56:26 pm »
Bourn
Keppinger
Feliz
Berkman
Lee
Pence
Matsui
Quintero
Rodriguez

So the Lee at 3 experiment is over... but why Feliz rather than Berkman??

Mills said the other day in after game interview that it is to help break up the L-R sequence. I don't care for it personally.

I think it falls into the category of "can't hurt."

Nice start.  Bourn singles, steals second, goes to third on a week single up the middle by Kepp.

And Feliz promptly pops up to second on the first pitch.

Anybody have any Derby bets?

I some how talked myself into an exacta box with two Pletcher horses (one of which is a filly) and the horse on the rail.  And the odds aren't even worth betting.  I can kiss that money goodbye.

perfect #2 hitter at-bat by keppinger there.  worked the count to get bourn the steal, then make solid contact on 3-2 to single up the middle.  any of these idiots who think pence should hit second "cuz he's fast" should have their baseball-watching cards revoked

The mighty Astros machine awakes.  FC high chopper to the pitcher, RBI for Puma.

1-0.

I hate the Braves. That stupid fucking chop makes me sick. Chip Carey makes me want to projectile vomit.

But Jason Heyward is a damn good player.

Yeah. The foul popup is one thing, but before that, reaching way outside for another curve low and away, is just not the Lee of old.

And a god damn line drive over the god damn playing-in-too-short-RF Hunter Pence scores both and now it's 2-1 Braves. What the hell was he doing in that shallow?

That was a flyout if he'd been at normal depth. It's Troy Glaus batting. There's no excuse for that bullshit. None at all.

Gee, Hunter is so fast down the line when he grounds out to SS. I wonder if he should be batting second?

It is an absolute abomination that I'm in north Texas and can't get the Astros on tv. The Rangers are on, as are the Reds and the Turdinals. Blech.

Cocksuckers on Fox calling the Rainbow Gut unis the worst ones in the history of baseball. Fuck. You.

They've clearly forgotten about the Padres' yellow-and-brown hideousness. Or the Padres' camo uniforms. Or the White Sox shorts (which I saw in person!).

I got home late from some other tasks, and turned things on in time to watch the bottom of the 5th. If this is supposed to be the pitching and defense lineup, we need to recalibrate.
