I loved the pick. They clearly needed a CB and were fortunate enough to be able to pick one after only one other CB was off the board. This tells me they truly got the best one out of Jackson, McCourty, Wilson, and Robinson. Credit to Smith for not trading down either because I'm pretty sure the Pats would've scooped him up at 22 instead of trading down with Dallas.

How did Texas ever manage to beat OU the last two years with all those first round picks they had?  Coaches Brown, Boon and Davis must be awesome.

Also, it didn't hurt that Bradford and Gresham were injured part of that run.

Colt to the Browns. Arm strength and frame were in question.

great place for colt to go.  holmgren spends lots of time developing young quarterbacks.

the pick i love most is the huge auburn running back the texans got in the second round.  guy's perfect for the cut and go system and has the size to run all over the colts d-line

I wouldn't have predicted Shipley before McCoy.

This isn't just some weird Aggie Longhorn hate, but I think Shipley (if he can stay healthy) has a better NFL career than McCoy.

maybe, but Shipley and Cosby play the same position, imo.

McCoy is perfect for a "West Coast" passing offense.

The Texans front office left many of us scratching our heads over the TE pick in the fourth round (though now I get it), but they more than redeemed themselves with their sixth-round pick of LSU rocketburner Trindon Holliday.

I love this pick. The Texans badly needed to get better on kickoffs because Andre Davis wasn't getting it done as he had in previous years. Holliday has world class track speed. He's a little guy who could be their Darren Sproles and have an immediate impact on games by putting pressure on the opponent through special teams play. Color me very excited about him.

The Gospel According to Tim:

On meeting McDaniels for the first time:

"I was jacked leaving that room. I didn't even want to visit another room. It was not enough time," Tebow said. "We were excited, we were enthusiastic. There was passion. It was just intense, and it was ball, and it was juice. The juice level in that room was high, and it was awesome."

I'm concerned for Tebow.  He may just very well spontaneously combust the first time he has sex.

They can get a place in Columbus and be roommates. That'd be neat.

Not catchy enough.  But what if we put one of them out on the boat, and the other on the dock, to try to complete a pass?

What is the buzz in Houston about the Ben Tate selection in the 2nd round?

I loved watching him run for Auburn.  Not a flashy back but a solid back that was hard to bring down.

I've pretty much heard "why not just take Gerhardt?"

Not that it is any particular authority, but an article on bleacherreport.com gave the Texans an A for their draft. My Saints got a B, but the Saints didn't have many draft picks to work with.

he's a perfect fit for the one-gut-and-go run system that the Texans use, more so than Gerhardt, Spiller, or pretty much every back in the draft except for the fresno state kid.  look at his highlights-- texans couldn't have picked a better player to battle the colts twice a year.

One gut and go? Sounds more like a system designed for Lendale White.

I can't comment because I've never seen him run more than the highlights, but this video of him and his family when he is drafted is really great.
