I never figured out why they traded him for Blefary. That was one of my first WTF moments as an Astros fan.

He's still hanging around in AAA somewhere ... had a few good outings last year for (I think) the Florida affiliate.  Not exactly a Cuellar in the making, though.

I remember being absolutely stunned. I was too young to fully understand what a trade was, so I asked my mom to call "Judge Roy" on the phone and tell him to let Mike come back. I still have irrationally negative thoughts about Curt Blefary.

I understand fully. How'd you like to be Blefary now though, knowing that you were traded for a first class pitcher and you left a major dump on your new team? I'd be in a rubber room! Wait, I've already been to three of them!

You are still better off than Curt who died in 2001 at the age of 57. His ashes were scattered at Memorial Stadium in Baltimore. The stadium has since been demolished.
