Cragganmore...12 years old...in my glass...right now...is a good thing.

Filtered water...in a styrofoam cup...sitting at my desk...getting ready to KILL!

However, I'm going to Omaha steaks on the way home, and will christen my grill tonight.

As soon as I get home, it's a buddy's home brewed Spiced Brown Ale.  It's not as aggressively "spece" flavored as a pumpkin ale or some of the Christmas brews.  More just a hint of corriander and ginger.  Good stuff.
Drinking for two.

Limey, you can do much, much better than Omaha steaks.

I was having a conversation about that this very evening.  I asked if it's just good branding, as opposed to good steaks, and I was pretty unanimously told it was the former.  I didn't go.

Macallan 18, in a plastic cup, stuck in a hotel room in Marshall, TX.  1 out of 3 ain't bad.
Don't think twice, it's alright.

Damn that's some sweet hooch.  At least you're not having to drink it straight from the bottle, cowboy.

Actually it's my maiden voyage with the 18.  By far the best (yet most expensive) single malt I've had.  Finished off a bottle of Lagavulin 16 the other day, too.  Loved that stuff.

And for the record, I'm not buying.  Which is why I'm drinking the good stuff.
Don't think twice, it's alright.

Affligem Dubbel.  Which is pretty good, but not as good as their Noel.

Real Ale's Pheonixx Double ESB that they have out right now is fantastic.  It's not a traditional ESB, but somewhere between and ESB and and American IPA.

Wow, easily my favorite. And I've had much, much older Macallan as well. Nice work.

I'm a little déclassé tonight with Macallan 10. But it was a Christmas gift, and there are many worse Christmas gifts.

Well, I started out on burgundy, but soon hit the harder stuff.

Which - if I'm remembering correctly (and there is a good chance I'm not) - was Canadian Hunter.

Scotch would have been nice, but none on hand.

Stopped by my HEB this morning to fetch dinner supplies and discovered a couple of new things that I hadn't seen before: Sierra Nevada Glissade, described as a Golden Bock on the label, and New Belgium Mighty Arrow, a pale ale. I'll report back later.

I wish the 16-year-old austro could see you now.

I'm guessing a post of his along this line would be something like this: "Went to the supermarket for a sixer, couldn't figure out how to boost one out of there under my shirt, so I gotta pay.  Got my fake ID out to double check, and spotted something I hadn't seen before.  Lucky Lager.  The large "X" on the label is cryptic, and makes me a bit dubious, but it is priced at $1.19 a six pack.  I'll report back later."

Coming home after 9 pm to realize you're out of scotch is like taking a big hairy dump then looking over and noticing the toilet paper roll is empty.

Last time I was in Australia a friend of mine offered me a Tasmanian lager that was very, very good. I get back to the states and buy a six of the Tasmanian lager they have at Spec's, James Boag. Like an idiot I hadn't really payed attention to the brand my friend had and like an idiot I never stopped to consider why the fuck James Boag could be so good in Australia and so bad in the US. For all I knew I was drinking the same stuff, and I was waiting for it to taste good. It never did. So just now I'm milling around in a bottle shop looking at the bewildering array of reds that are a) likely to be very, very good and b) all but unknown in the US when I happened to glance into the refrigerated section and noticed Cascade Premium Lager, Tasmanian Purity, Exceptional Quality. Son of a bitch. For a year and a half I've been drinking the wrong beer. Nice work, slappy. Anyway, yeah, if you'd like to try a Tasmanian lager endorsed by good old chuck, Cascade is the way to go.
