SNS Golf

If I were to put something together, would anyone be interested in another SNS golf outing? I promise to drink less this time.

I would, if I'm in town.

Taras cut the hamstring on the back of my leg, right at the bottom.  I'll never play golf again, because my weight displacement...I go back and all my weight is on my right foot, and I push everything off to the right; I never come through on anything.  I've quit the game.

Besides, my Sienna's always in the way, anyway.

It's been several years since I played a full round and my last time at the range confirms that what fleck of skill I once had is gone, but I might be willing to publically debase myself on the links.
I'm in love with rock and roll and I'll be out all night.

I happen to be dealing with the beginning of an arthritic shoulder. That probably means Austro is now safe from me almost taking his head off with an ill-advised approach shot on the 17th hole.  Having said that, I'd make the trip just to be with friends and share in some good eating.  The homemade food you guys served last year was awesome!  Consider me a caddy/cart driver this time if I make it.  February looks like a very hectic month right now on my calendar.

What about the last Saturday in Feburary, the 27th?

Sporadic has to play under the influence of LSD, wearing a Doc Ellis jersey.  Fucker would still probably shoot a 62.

18 months ago, I was consistently in the low 80's with the occasional dip into the 70s.  Today, I struggle to break 100.  It's not due to a lay-off as I've being playing pretty much every week during this excruciating decent into madness.  A couple of weeks ago, I nearly missed the ball.

I'm not being hyperbolic about my game.  The only reason I shoot around 100, is because I don't take more than a 7 on any hole.

Actually, what he needs to do is turn his hat around backwards, put all of his change in his left pocket, tie his left shoe in a double knot, and stick a tee behind his left ear.

What he really needs is a hot psychiatrist to help him unwind. Either that or just play every hole with his 7-iron.

Alright, Saturday the 27th of February. I will find a course, but it will probably be Kingwood Cove because you can walk there from my house and they won't care when you are out there tearing up their course. Afterward everyone is invited over for booze and some sort of food. I'll post more when I think of it. Everyone check your calendars and let me know how many to expect.

Well, should the wind die down this time, and it warm up to, say, 50 degrees, she'll probably enjoy herself a little more as the day wears on than she did last year.  Thank God for the Shiner that day, eh?

Speaking of Shiner, gleach, you better contact the Kingwood Cove folk about an unanticipated spike in Shiner Bock sales for whatever weekend is selected, just to make sure they have plenty in advance, sure, but also to advise them that they had best override any automated inventory control mechanism that might encourage them to quintuple their weekly Shiner order on the Monday after said event.

I'm cool any of those days.

However, my boss just talked to me about going to Korea during the week of Feb 20, so I don't know if that would impact one weekend or the other.  At this point, though, I believe that I have successfully fended off the trip.  I've been there once before, and I met with some people who reported me to the authorities (for totally bogus reasons, but they were very, very pissed off with me because I'd embarrassed them and taken business away from them).  My boss wasn't overly moved by this story - pissing people off is what we do best, and we take pride in that.  He did take note, though, when I pointed out that those people and the people he wants me to meet with next month are the same people.

North or South Korea?  Don't want you getting caned or something if you piss off the wrong people on the wrong side of the border.  On a side-note, I envy you.  It has been a long-standing goal of mine to piss people off on a whole other continent.

Alright, so Limey can maybe or maybe not make the 20th. Everyone else seems good with the 20th with the possible exception of Noe, who has a busy February. Limey, any updates? Anyone else want to chime in before I book this thing for the 20th? Anybody coming just for the after party? Raups? Budgirl? Jane? Let's get a head count.

Anyone else want to chime in before I book this thing for the 20th? Anybody coming just for the after party? Raups? Budgirl? Jane? Let's get a head count.

Any of the dates work for me.

I could attend the after party for any date except the 27th.

Go ahead with the 20th.  If I end up travelling, I will do my utmost to set it up so as not to be travelling on the golf day.

Let's see: 1pm tee time, minus an hour or so for warm-up and practice, minus 3 hours or so for driving, means leaving the house at 9am. Or I could leave at 8am and detour through Lexington for some pre-round brisket at about 9:30. Hmmm.....

ybbodeus was there last year, so I'm guessing it is not an adults only event.

We're sitting in the cart as Limey is adding up the scores...it goes something like this:

Limey:   "I shot a 44 on the front nine...that's the best I've shot in a while, lately I've been absolute crap shooting something pathetic like a 56."

Me:  "what did I shoot?"

Limey:  "56".

my favorite golf moment was not getting hit by sporadic's numerous booming drives right into us. my second favorite was watching HH stand over the ball preparing to hit it with his stogie clamped firmly between his teeth. it was positively Churchillian, i tells ya.
