There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Ortiz delegated to MLS.   Awesomeness.   Well unless you are a Dynamo fan, if so my condolences.

was the new guy good on the Dynamo beat?  Not like he can be any worse than Ortiz, just wanted to know from any soccer fans out there.  If he was good one place chances are he will be good another.  Also, will be intrigued to see how Ortiz takes his demotion.  This is a pretty big demotion, right?

Don't care.  They could double his salary and bring him tea and dumplings every day.  I'm just glad he is off the Astros.

He hasn't written and article or made a blog post in almost a month.   I wouldn't be surprised to see him move elsewhere,if he was able to find another job.

Fallas helped with the most recent Astros article on Drayton and selling the team and I believe Fallas was at the Myers PC today.

So the unfortunately named Mr. Fallas will be the Astros beat writer going forward?

This is great news....my only disappointment is the potential of Brett Myers calling Ortiz a 'retard' is pretty much out the window

Wahoo! Fuck off and stay fucked off, JDJO!

By the way, we never, ever cared about you. We cared about the Astros and that is the only reason we ever read or responded to your shitty, poorly-written, agenda-driven dreck, in the misguided hopes of gaining some new info about the Houston Astros.

I thought that fat fuck was getting fired, not demoted. I'm disappointed. I was hoping he'd become a stay at home dad with his kids in Kingwood while his wife brings home the paycheck writing about Rice field hockey.

I wonder who the hell the goons who run the paper will bring in to be the new sports editor and I wonder if he'll be worth a shit unlike the last two.

I really hoped they'd send Duarte up to cover the Astros.

What happened to Levine? He was pretty good doing fill-in Astros duty.

Levine will continue to provide Astros coverage as he did when JdJO was the beat writer. I don't believe his status has changed.

Not to beat a dead horse, but can you imagine how much bullshit would've been in [urlhttp://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bb/6816776.html]this article[/url] if Ortiz had written it?  It's...my gawd it's just refreshing.

This Fallas fellow is a much-needed breath of fresh air for the Chron's Astros coverage. Kudos to the editors for finally giving its Astros readership a competent journalist covering the team.

Fallas seems like a stand up guy.  Hopefully he'll generate a lot of pull around the sports section without stepping into too many sticky situations.

Throw in a guy name Lance at 1B, the second sacker's medical history and you are probably heading toward some awkward combination of who's on 1st and this.
