Paulino eats a salad

After reportedly weighing 271 at the end of the season, he's on the Quintero Diet this offseason.  Q did seem to get quicker behind the dish after he lost all that weight, so hopefully Felipe will see some benefits too.  If nothing else, it should help with stamina late in games.  No word on whether the trainer has taught him a changeup.

He already lost 180 pounds that was holding him back the day the Astros fired Cecil Cooper.

I'm happy to see Pence and Bourn in that list.  Neither one has any weight to lose and both have established themselves as major leaguers so it is great to see their commitment.

The 6-foot-3 Paulino was listed at 180 pounds in the Astros' 2009 media guide and was listed at a more accurate 271 pounds in the postseason wrap-up guide.

I knew not to trust media guides, but a 91 pound difference between listed weight and actual weight?  Ridiculous.

Yeah. Translating for "media guide height," I'm guessing Bagwell was actually 5'9", and Biggio was one midget standing on another's shoulders.
