This is pretty much the first time I've ever watched MMA - is it always this boring?

This fight started incredibly boring... not much more exciting than the UT game... holy crap as I typed this I just saw a monster slam by Kimbo. NVM.

Pbp of first round - one black guy and one white guy walking around in circles.

Second round more interesting (black guy on top of white guy a few times).

Kimbo is dominating the 2nd round after the most boring 1st round in MMA history.

I'm going to judge this sport based on this "fight".

Wow. What a piece of shit.

Kimbo slice wins on unanimous decision.

My only consolation after watching this terrible fight is that Joey knows as little about this as anything else.

If you watched "Ultimate Fighter" like my bro-in-law made me you would know Kimbo Slice is missing important parts of his knee.  I'm guessing the other dude didn't feel like kicking his knee all night.

i don't know how i missed this thread last night but u can see me bitching about this fight in the big 12 thread.  these two have very little real mma skills aside from their punching power, yet they both, especially alexander, put on a show to display those little real mma skills instead of just coming out and kicking ass.  horrible card all around too-- one guy, jon "bones" jones, probably the most talented fighter on the card, got DQ'd for throwing illegal 12-6 elbows at a deaf guy.

I couldn't tell if he was deaf or if he was talking that way because of the broken nose.  I fast forwarded through all the commentary and just watched the fights and missed them talking about that.  Jones has a bright future regardless.  Super athletic to go along with those freakishly long arms.

Yes, Kimbo has no cartilage in one knee and at least on TUF was terrified of needles and wouldn't get cortisone and gel injections to ease the pain.

hammill is deaf.  jones is one of the best young fighters alive.  if last night was the first time you've seen him, go watch some of his other fights on-line, particularly his fight against stephan bonnar-- the guy does some incredible throws and things like that.  real martial arts movie kind-of stuff.
