Thru 5 and AZ isn't kicking the 'Stros butts by a dozen (yet)...

Update: Middle 6: HOU 1, ARI 1
In the end, my dissolution with the game of baseball will not be a result of any loss of love for the game, rather from the realization that I can no longer bear the anger its supposed stewards cause to be built up in my soul. -Lee (01/08/2013)

And with that, Justin Upton HRs to center with none out in the B6 to make it 2-1 ARI.  I'll shut up and listen now...

I can see that Blum might have a veteran's eye in a tight AB, but he's got to be stony cold. Didn't he fly in this morning?

You're really trying to spread the word, eh?

I assume that Chacon was referring to the well-known institutional racism of the Houston Astros.

Back-to-back singles by Michaels and BG's 'sweet baby Bourn' put runners on the corners with none out in T8.

And elsewhere in the 'there is still hope department' Rogers says Coop is one of a couple of managers on the hot-seat: LINK

"The Reds need a strong finish to end talk about  Dusty Baker walking the managerial plank. Other managers in limbo are the Indians'  Eric Wedge, Nationals'  Jim Riggleman, Astros'  Cecil Cooper and Orioles'  Dave Trembley." ...

Pence swung at a caricature of a low-and-away slider- after earlier taking two pitches right down the middle.

And yes, Lee indeed stole 2nd-without a throw, and right after Qualls had tried to pick him off.

Valverde in for B8, Michaels stays in to play LF.  Side retired in order (K, groundout to SS, K).

On to T9.  Good time for the Good Guys to come up with a couple-o-runs!

Kaz grounds out, but Blum is on 1B after HBP.  1 out T9.

And in the Astros PTBNL watch (via Pudge trade if TEX makes playoffs): Rangers 2nd in ALW, trail LAA by 5; 2nd in WC race, trail BOS by 3.5.

Crap, Michaels hit a liner up the middle that Qualls deflected, Drew threw Michaels out at first. Qualls twisted his knee when he jumped and it doesn't look good, they're helping him off the field. Damn shame that Qualls got hurt on that play.

The ball was absolutely a single to center until it went off Qualls' glove (protecting his head) and then Drew made a great play to scoop it and nail Michaels at 1st. Of course, with Blum hobbled he was not likely to mae it to 3rd, and it may have taken two more singles to score him from 2nd...

So my posts have gotten that bad, eh?

Then again, if I really want to watch ants scurry around that bad I can always walk to Pioneer Square in downtown Portland with a Bush-Cheney hat on...

Actually curious if he had any comments on the subject since he was Tejada's mgr in '01.

No, I didn't think your posts have gotten that bad, it just seemed like the kind of dumb non-story that they'd chew on incessantly.

No comments yet. I doubt they'll address it. They've pretty much finished the Astros part and now they're back to the studio for scores.
