So the Mets are sponsoring Jewish Heritage Night -- like a bunch of teams have done. This year, the Mets are partnering with the "Gift of Life Foundation," an organization that sponsors bone marrow donation. At the game this year, the Mets are going to do a testing drive as well as introduce (for the very first time) a recipient to his/her donor. Gift of Life is a worthy foundation that unfortunately got a lot of bad press this past year because they added Bernard Madoff to their board days before Madoff was arrested.
I raise this because my wife also happens to be on the board of the foundation (she is a childhood friend of the founder Jay Feinberg). So we are going to game and sitting in the Wilpon Suite. I have never sat in a luxury box at a game (and certainly not in the owner's box). So while I hate the Mets, I am actually excited to see this game (vs. the Giants).
