Interesting the multiple comments on spin.  I didn't realize batters paid that much attention to the spin they placed on a ball.  In golf, backspin is the killer of distance, but for Bagwell, the intentional introduction of backspin to his hits is what allowed him to hit further than he had in the minors

I had completely missed the Q&A.  Thanks for the heads-up.
In the end, my dissolution with the game of baseball will not be a result of any loss of love for the game, rather from the realization that I can no longer bear the anger its supposed stewards cause to be built up in my soul. -Lee (01/08/2013)
