I'd love to play if there is an opening after you find out who is/isn't returning from last year.

Do I have to win again?  It's sooooo boring to keep winning week, after week, after week...

I'll play again if you'll promise me that my #1 pick won't be out for the season after playing 8 minutes of the first quarter of the first game.

I also like it when you see a short yardage back come in and vulture TD's from the starter.   Especially when you drafted the starter in the first few rounds.

I was kicking your ass until I got distracted traveling or who knows what and forgot to make the necessary substitutions and half my damn team had a bye. I think I got like 15 points that week. Never could recover.

I'm in.

Only by virtue of my shit fantasy football karma. The Cleo Lemon Party dominated for weeks but still could not overcome the FFBG.

Excuses are like assholes chuck.  I got grief for drafting Owen Daniels, so I'm basking in any sunshine I can get.

I'll go back to my 7th place finish soon enough.

best fantasy football team name of all time.

i'll start the league up i guess, unless anyone else wants to volunteer, and i'll keep the number of teams open-ended for now.

a couple of ideas for changes from previous years:

1. a season-long FF thread on the beer & queso forum
2. a system for claiming random unknown players who have unexpected breakout games or who are made starters via injury (like the last place team gets first choice on monday or something) rather than the current first-come, first-serve thing
3. winner gets a prize, like a white elephant gift from all the losers

any other ideas?

Not an excuse, just a reality. I fucked up and I paid the price. I deserved what I got. As for Owen Daniels, he should have even better numbers this year. A TE is the only thing I was missing last year. Todd Heap? Come on.

alright, the league is on the air, and i sent personal messages to everyone with instructions.  so far, i count 12 teams based on replies to this thread.  there were 14 last year, which was maybe a bit much if you ask me, but i'd have no problems doing that many again.

in addition to the changes i mentioned above (can't claim players until tuesday, worst team claims first), i changed the scoring slightly to give negative points for missed field goals and quarterback sacks (-1 to the quarterback who gets sacked), and i rewarded low-scoring defenses a bit more while increasing the penalty for defenses that give up more than 28 points.  oh, and return td's count for the defense.  also, the wr/rb category is changed to wr/rb/te.  please throw out any suggestions, or problems you have with these changes.  if there's 12 teams, we'll have 4 playoff teams.  if it's 14 teams, we'll go back to 6.

the draft is currently set for wednesday september 2nd at 7:00pm central, but i can easily change it.

I'd be interested, if you'd consider adding a disappointing rookie to your league.
