OSF....i was hoping you'd put this together again this year.  This list beats anyone out there because of all the info you get into it.   If i'm not mistaken the 'Scouting' column is new this year...good work
Reading Richard Justice and respect level for Richard Justice are inversely related

From McTaggart's blog: LINK

Heck and scout Doug Deutsch are still negotiating with first-round pick Jiovanni Mier, a high school shortstop from southern California.

"It's been very positive," Heck said. "Doug Deutsch has had multiple meetings with the family since his selection, and we've been given all indicators it's going to happen sooner than later."

Thanks.  Thought I'd try to add a wrinkle here.  Unfortunately I know I am missing some video links as (MLB.com is no longer posting them), but was able to glean a number of them from the draft thread.

Looks like the Good Guys have signed another 9.

Footer confirms 8 via Twitter (LINK and LINK):

SS Enrique Hernandez (6th round), 3B Erik Castro (10th round); LHP David Berner (14th round); CF Garen Wright (29th round); OF Sean Barksdale (38th round); RHP Daniel Sarisky (40th round); RHP Michael Schurz (44th round) and and LHP Spencer Hylander (50th).

13th rounder Goebbert also signed (thanks Duman) LINK.

After negotiating with the team during the past several days, a source close to the situation said Goebbert signed for $100,000.  The decision means Goebbert will forego his senior season at Northwestern, but the source indicated that the contract also includes an additional $50,000 that Goebbert can use should he choose to complete his college degree.

I'll update the chart later this eve.

It's great to see more signings, especially Hernandez and Castro, who was thought to be a tough sign. Hopefully Mier gets signed soon.

OSF, in the Draft Chat with Heck thread, Heck is quoted as saying Jonathon Meyer has been signed.

Brandt Walker is showing up on the Tri-City roster, so I'm assuming he's signed as well.

Thanks y'all.  Footer confirms singings of Walker and Meyer (and Goebbert) on Twitter (LINK): astros signed three more draft picks -- 3rd round supplemental pick Jonathan Meyer, RHP Brandt Walker (8th), and OF Jacob Goebbert (13th)

Chart updated to add signings of Meyer (3rd round supplemental) and Walker (8th round) and scouting videos on Escobar (41st round).

In summary, the Astros have signed 33 of their 51 picks thusfar, including all but 3 of their first 26 picks.  The only players yet to sign though the first 25 rounds are Jiovanni Mier (1st round), Dallas Keuchel (7th round) and Geoffrey Thomas (12th round), and the window to start negotiating with Keuchel didn't start until the Razorbacks loss against LSU earlier this evening.

Does anyone have an update on the unsigned draftees?  Since Aug. 17 is only a few weeks away, just wondering whether the Astros are still trying to sign them, or if these guys dropped because signability reasons and aren't likely to end up in Houston's minor leagues this year.  Believe that is the case with Peavey (the Oregon State pitcher)?

I've asked a couple of times, and this (from 7/13) is the last response that I received (from Levine at the Chronicle):

Q: ...Additionally, any word on the unsigned draftees? Who are they still working on and who are they 'following' to see if a deadline deal can be made?

A: To address the last three, I was given no specific names but told to expect a few more signings before the deadline. They are still following a few of those HS players at the end. Players must be signed, normally by Aug. 15, but this year by Aug. 17 to avoid a weekend deadline. -Z

Thanks, bud!!  Really appreciate the update.  I actually read Levine's original post, but hadn't gone back since then to check the comments.  As Noe is wont to say, irony is so ironic.

Really curious who the late signings might be.  My gut instinct (or maybe it's simply naive hope) is that some of them may be high ceiling types who fell for one reason or another (i.e. bonus demands, college, etc.).  Guess we'll see in the next few weeks when the names are announced.

Good catch.  Hopefully there will be a few more before the singing deadline passes.

With the signing of Rivera, the Astros have signed 36 of their 51 picks.  Only Geoffrey Thomas (12th round) remains unsigned of the top 26 picks.
