It was a nice play, but there aren't more then three or four living players that couldn't have beaten that out.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Q isn't nearly the weapon behind the plate he'd like to think he is.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

That's a nice piece of hitting.  Most guys pop that pitch up.

What does that have to do with the wild pitch?

It bounced out in front of the plate, and Q looked shocked that a runner was daring to move on him.

Well, I think he didn't realize how far it bounced away, and thought maybe he had a play.  He did a great job simply keeping that ball in front of him.  I thought you might be suggesting there was something he could have done differently.  Other than the goofy look.

Maysonet strikes out on a pitch that got nothing but the umpire's arm. Catcher got crossed up and was looking hook but the 98 MPH cheese nipped the umpire. Ouch. Twinkie to third.

No, it was good form on the block.  I've just noticed that with all the snap throws, etc., he really hinks he's capable of completely stopping every runner.

While I fully I agree, my house is too small to maintain a proper one. Closest I've got is my desk in the bedroom, which has almost every inanimate object that I love within reach. I work an awful lot at night (like now), and watch the games on a little LCD screen just left of the keyboard. To the right is a Manhattan, half-drunk. Just to the right of that is an original piece of Astroturf from the Dome. A bunch of various and sundry, and a Marshall JCM 900 sitting on top of a Fender 4x12. It's not all bad, but no cigars.

To the right is a Manhattan, half-drunk.

Tonight it was Stewart's.  Although after HH's pointed riposte it's clearly time to bust out the 18 yr old Glenlivet now. No cheroots though.

There are dozens of people left in the Park.   Looks like a game in Pittsburgh.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

The GIDP by Pence killed them.  Without it, they have to face either Berkman or Lee with the winning run at 3B with 1 out.

Nope, you gotta give who is supposed to be your best hitter a chance to drive in the winning run.  But GIDP is the worst thing that could have happened.

Appreciate the free water, thanks.

Doesn't the slapping of the mitt behind the batter just confirm the pitch is going to be on the outside?

Wow, great diving play up the middle by Kata saving a run and ending the inning.

I'm just happy to see the team start playing better baseball, regardless of the opponent.     That said, the Hunter Pence in the 3-hole experiment must end immediately.

Baseball = fucking great. Just saw Tejada's walk-off. Pence is hitting .341. Berkman should hit third. This is very true. Great, great, June 2nd win.

Some light reading for you.

Heyseuss Christo. Cue the San Marvelous douchebags, skin-tight in Affliction shirts, swaggering around mid-6th street, hours after a steroid-shot to the ass-cheek, frosted tips, making out with their fake-funbag, over-baked whore of a...something.

Good for them. Thumbs up.
