Dodgers at Astros 4/21/09
« on: April 21, 2009, 07:49:09 pm »
3-1 Dodgers in the top of the 2nd.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Not at all.  In fact, the strikezone is enormous.  For example, he walked the 7 foot pitcher on four pitches, none of them within 2 feet of the strikezone.

Bottom of the 2nd...

Pudge grounds out 5-3, 1 out.
Keppinger shatters his bat, grounds out 5-3, 2 outs.
Hot brunette with nice tits walks by...
Ortiz flies F9, inning over.

Still 3-1 Dodgers.

Matsui saves the day, beating Kershaw to the bag for the force out at second. Side retired.

Also, Pudge made a strong throw to Tejada with one out and runners on the corners for the second out on Kershaw's sac bunt attempt.

He might not be hitting a lick (typed as Pudge laced a single to right), but the arm is still pretty impressive.

Going back to that inning. I was thinking. In a situation where you have first and third, a pitcher clearly trying to sacrifice, and both corner infielders charging; would anyone else walk the left fielder in and have him cover third? (short woulc then cover second and second cover first)

Kaz then drew a bases-loaded walk to score iRod, leaving the bases loaded with one out. Mota out of the game. 7-3 Astros.

Going back to that inning. I was thinking. In a situation where you have first and third, a pitcher clearly trying to sacrifice, and both corner infielders charging; would anyone else walk the left fielder in and have him cover third? (short woulc then cover second and second cover first)
Could you please not post here again for six more months

Well, my buddies have left me here in the Club level on my own to go and watch the Rockets.  The game hangs in the balance, and I can still see right down the wonderful cleavage of the girl in front, so I'm not moving.

Celbrating their 400th store (#399 is in Houston)

There's a fairly new one in Austin too. North of campus on Guadalupe. I keep hearing about it but haven't tried it yet.

Left DC for LA 5 years ago and there were only a handful at the time.  I can't imagine expansion that fast helps quality control.  But they were mighty fine burgers... perfect amount of grease / meat ratio.

They're good, but nothing spectacular. Dirty's, Hut's, Fatburger, In-And-Out, even Whataburger are better. But there's nothing like a Casino El Camino burger when you're in Austin.

The burgers at In-n-Out or the boobs in the Club level?

I hate to say it, but In-N-Out can be very location specific too.  The one by my house is pretty middling... which is probably good for me.  But the one right by LAX on Sepulveda is always right on point.

I thought Brownie said Sampson's warming up.

Yep, but I question the decision to continue to let him pitch when his right leg is hurting him. Stoopid.

Between this and the one he took off his face last year, I think it's fair to say the man has stones.

The irony is that pitchers can have a hangnail and a manager will say "He's hurt and battled out there in spite of it.  But he wasn't right and I had to take him out".  Yes, because of a hangnail.
