Buck / McCarver (ugh...).

Will do half inning PBP unless someone wants batter-by-batter (unless of course Jane wants to have at it...).

Some of us can't get anything so would appreciate PBP.  Fuck fox and their saturday blackout.

(half inning would be great)

Well the radio feed is ahead of the tv feed, that is irritating.

And I forgot that Milo doesn't do most road series.

Top 1: Wainright pitching

KazMat: feigns bunt (1-0), foul back, ball high and away, ball low, slapped just foul in left (3-2), line drive base hit into left.  Kaz on 1B, no outs.

Spaz: ball inside (1-0), tailing fastball inside corner (1-1), bender outside (2-1) Kaz caught stealing on the play (perfect throw - McCarver said looked like he might have missed the tag), single up the middle.  Spaz on 1B, 1 out.

Twinkie: ball, ball, strike on the corner (2-1), ball - high (3-1), throw over, ball outside (walked).  Runners on 1B and 2B, 1 out.

Kabong: swinging strike (0-1), ball inside (1-1), ball down and away (2-1), tried to check his swing on the inside pitch - strike (2-2), fouled off breaking ball inside (2-2), broken bat nubber - 3rd baseman barehands the ball and easily throws out Carlos, runners advance.  2 outs, runners on 2B and 3B.

Miggy: ball away (1-0), swinging strike at pitch down and away (1-1), ball inside (2-1), popped foul 2 rows into the seats - Pooholes gives chase but cant get to it (2-2), Tejada strikes out on his best Spaz impression.  3 outs.

Why is it asking so much for the 2nd base umpire to actually move so he's in position to see the tag play?

He didn't stand a chance at seeing where Skippy tagged Kaz from his vantage point.

1 out with Rasmus on first for Pujols.

called strike, called strike, ball, long foul (by just a couple of feet), ball way inside drives Prince Albert back, line drive caught by Blum who quickly throws a strike to Berkman at first to catch Rasmus off the bag for a DP!

6 lobsters in 3 innings.  Ugh.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

This is getting frustrating. Stranding two runners an inning is not fun.

Argh!  0-2 hits drive me NUTS!!
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

This bullshit is Roy's fault, not anybody else's. Letting the bottom of the order knock him around is fucking unacceptable.

Yeah, our hitters couldn't see the ball come into the shadows, but theirs are having no problem.

Fuck.  GS Pujols.  Its another Oswalt inning, folks.

I don't either.  It's mindboggling.  I have to say, this Astros team is about as baseball stupid as it gets.  I've never seen a team so completely brain dead.

This year, has an opposing pitcher thrown a pitch that bounced that an Astros hitter did *not* swing at?

Neither.

Roy is just pitching stupid.

I agree, but he had double digit losses last year (which is also dependent on our hitters lack of scoring runs).  And he seems to be having more trouble with the bottom of the order than he should.

I hope I am just over-reacting.

Am I reading gamecenter right?  Did Wright just give up a 3-run jack to Pujols and then load the bases and still have no outs?

You sure?  I thought both Schumaker and Rasmus scored on the HR.

Bottom 7: Wright pitching

Schumaker: called strike (0-1), ball in the dirt and outside (1-1), shattered bat grounder, Miggy tries to backhand it but doesn't get it cleanly and doesn't make a throw.  None out, runner at 1B.

Rasmus: base hit on soft liner off the handle of the bat just over the glove of Blum.  None out, runners at 1B and 2B.

Pujols: ball (1-0), ball just off the outside corner (2-0), fouls into the seats just out of Spaz' reach (2-1), swinging strike (2-2), homers just into the seats in left (about 5 feet from the foul pole).  HOU 0, STL 9.  None out, none on...

Duncan: basehit into right.  None out, runner on 1B.

Ankiel: singles past a diving Berkman.  None out, runners on 1B and 2B.

Molina: another basehit through the right side.  Bases juiced, none out.  Coop leaving Wright out there as the sacrificial lamb it'd seem...

Thurston: singles up the middle over on a shot Wrights head.  1 scores, bases still juiced.  No one throwing in the pen.  HOU 0, STL 10

Ryan: Sampson finally throwing in the pen, struck out swinging on foul tip.  1 out, bases juiced still.

Barden: mercifully grounds into a 4-6-3 DP.  3 outs...

End 7: HOU 0, STL 10

Top 8: Brad Thompson (RHP) on the mound, Thurston moves from 3B to 2B, Barden stays in at 3B, Schumaker moves from 2B to FL, Duncan out of the game.

Spaz: 1st pitch groundout to 3B.  1 out, none on.

Berkman: walks on a 3-2 offering just inside (you know, the kind of pitch Pujols watches but Berkman, lacking the perfect self control of Pujols, swings at (per McCarver)). 1 out, runner on 1B.

Lee: soft bouncer towards 3B, Barden makes a decent run to get to the ball and still beats Carlos by a step with the throw.  2 outs, Twinkie at 2B.

Tejada: struck out swinging on the 2-2 pitch.  3 outs.

Middle 8: HOU 0, STL 10

Yeah, that's the problem. I believe we have the offense (when the batting order makes sense), but if Roy doesn't give us a good game every 5th day, we're in trouble.

that's because it has been a week of bad baseball.  i do think the astros have the stuff/talent to play better.  i just wish they would start tomorrow, i've pretty much let this game go already.

Bottom 8: LaTroy on the hill, Q behind the dish.

Schumaker:  singled up the middle.  None out, runner on 1B.

Rasmus: struck out swinging on 93 mph heater on 2-2 pitch.  1 out, runner on 1B.

LaRue (PH for Pujols): slow roller to Tejada who throws to 2B for the force.  2 outs, runner on 1B.

Thompson (yes, that Thompson, the relief pitcher): flairs the 2-2 pitch to center for a single, LaRue to 3B.  2 outs, runners at the corners.

Ankiel: grounder down the 1B line, Berkman knocks it down but cant get a handle on it, throws the ball away, runner scores. HOU 0, STL 11 2 outs, runners at 1B and 2B.

Molina: grounder back to Hawkins for the 3rd out...

End 8: HOU 0, STL 11

Fuck Pujols and fuck Filo!

hard for me to demean excellence. make good pitches or pay the price.

i noticed Roy broke out the "offense sucks" excuse already.
Often wrong, but never in doubt.

It was a pretty good pitch, down and in FB, but not good enough. It felt like the whole world knew what was coming. Roy wasn't about to give in.

Sure. I wasn't necessarily dissing his ability. Just fuck him.

Yep. The pitch hit Pudge's glove on the inside black, right where he called for it. A lesser hitter might've swung and missed, but it's Albert Freakin Pujols. He has the bat speed to turn on that inside fastball. I actually thought Roy threw worse pitches to Pujols earlier in the game.

i only saw a replay, but it looked to me as if AP flew way open guessing inside FB. what was the count? is that correct? if so, maybe Roy should consider pitching backwards at times.

Not sure. It was early in the count, maybe first pitch.

Yeah it was the first pitch.

Roy pumped it inside and Fat Asshole turned on it.
