Lou Palmisano to minors
« on: March 22, 2009, 06:11:06 am »
He was offered back to Brewers as a rule 5 pick, they said no thanks so he accepted assignment to minor league camp.  Will it be he and Towles at RR or will he be with Santangelo at CC?

My guess is that Towles will start at RR and whichever of gthe other two they see as having the most potential will start at CC.  The loser of that contest will back up Towles with Peterson the backup at CC and Castro/Clemens at Lancaster.

Here is how I see it shaking out.

Towles - RR
Palmisano - RR
Espisito - CC
Santangelo - CC
Jose Lopez - CC
Castro - Lancaster
Clemens - Lancaster

Where will Fixler be in all this?  Prior to looking at the numbers, it seemed like he would be at Lancaster

Good question.  I'm not sure where he fits, though he did have a decent year at the plate last year.  Maybe he bumps Lopez?  Or maybe KKlemens plays his natural position, DH?

I agree Lopez is the shakiest of the bunch.

I think Fixler starts at Lex.  He only had 80 games at Lex last season.  I would see him moving up quickly with injury to someone else and through solid performance.  Castro's rise has slowed his progression up the charts.  There is also not too much behind him, so he may be needed at Lex.

Is Federico Hernandez slated for Lex, or he is going to Tri-City?

I see Lex as very likely.  Tri Cities will likely have a draftee or two as well as Pedro Gonzalez.

Greeneville will likely see Carlos Mojica again and a draftee or two.  Rene Garcia could wind up in Greeneville but I expect him to be in the new GCL Astros.

Along with Paul Estrada, apparently. It wasn't too long ago that the org was talking about him as a shutdown reliever. Just goes to show...
