I shared this opinion initially, until I read a couple of pieces that helped sketch the background between the shit brewing between those two. I'm not saying Bale wasn't being a huge cockbag, just that there's valuable context we're not privy to.

I'm of the opinion that an actor should never be the one to berate one of the technical crew, regardless of the backstory. If Bale were that pissed off, the director should have calmed him down and handled the DP. It only makes Bale look like a dickhead, which he was, and the director spineless.

Yes and no. He was accused of verbally assaulting, not physically assaulting, his mother and sister. Three weeks later, the charges were dismissed for lack of evidence.
