Is there a game tonight? Or are we just doing 24 hours of Fox pre-game and throwing out the first pitch tomorrow?

So it's Wheeler, Hickey, reverT (is he on the roster?) & Zobrist vs. Lidge & Bruntlett...
How can you ask me a question like that?  Do you ask The Beatles that??

Jason Werth is more what I would call a come-back player than Lidge.

You could add quite a few more Astros-connections if you went front office on these clubs.

Hah. Never listened to him.

We saw all the former Astros in the 9th inning. Trever and Wheeler got Howard and Bruntlett, and Lidge made the Rays look pathetic.

Not to mention the Houston connection with Kazmir and Crawford.   This is about as good as you could get other than the Astros being in it.

Two check-swing strikeouts is strong evidence of filth on display.  Was a strange feeling last night, kinda wanting the Rays to win but in no way wanting Lidge to blow the lead and get stuck in another two years of pundit hell.

Was ok with the result, then Fox showed a row of Phillie Twats taunting the home fans.  I hate wanting nice things to happen for those tossers.

I think he threw one (94 mph) when he got to 2-2 or 3-2 on Crawford, then got the pop-out on another slider. Pretty impressive. I'm kind of in the same place as Limey, Phillie fans make me reluctant to pull for their team, but once it got to Lidge I was rooting against the Rays.

Anyone see the stat that since 2003, the NL's DH hitters have gone .079 with 1 RBI in the WS when they are in the AL ballpark.  That is sick.

Some guy named Bagwell was 1-6 with a run scored and 2 plunks in his 2 games at Comiskey. Duncan Jr. had the ribbie in game 1 the next year at Comerica.

You are correct.  NL teams having to use that abomination to God is sick.

I'm still wondering why Matt Stairs didn't get the nod as DH last night.  Not having to play the field gives you plenty of time for ass-pounding in the dugout.

Not bad. I think Werth kinda looks like a Muppet. And he undoubtedly looked like a showboating tool tonight, pointing as he rounded first on his homer.

He was just excited that it is very difficult to make a baserunning blunder on a home run.

During the 5th inning last night, Joe Buck was praising the grounds crew for the job they were doing, keeping the field playable.  He said The Who had played there over the weekend.  I had to rewind the DVR just to make sure I wasn't hearing things. Is that true?

You mixed up his praises.  While he was giving the grounds crew their props, he was praising the cops for working a World Series game until 2:45 in the morning, an Eagles game the next day, the Who concert, and then finally the rainy game last night, all at venues very close to each other.

If Keith Moon had been anywhere near that stadium over the weekend, there'd be no way to get it playable by Monday night.

BJ Upton looked pretty foolish, swinging at the first pitch and grounding into a DP with one of the most prolific base-stealers in the game on first and his team down by one.

Yeah, but what was he throwing up there?  God bless him and I'm happy to see he got the ring, but nothing was biting.  I thought he was throwing hanging curves, everything was tumbling.  Were those sliders? Except the last pitch that won it.  Had good action and moved away to the lefty.  That looked like a slider

I noticed that too. Pujols might have put it in the upper deck. Pujols is an ass, I hate him, I hate bringing his name up, but he's also one of the best hitters of all time. He could take anyone deep. Brad got way to much credit for that homer Pujols hit when Pujols' team lost the NLCS. God, I hate what passes for journalism.

Sometimes a good pitcher can get away with poor stuff, sometimes, they hit his best. Things worked out well for Brad this time. But he is who we thought he was. He didn't get better. He's on a good roll. He's settled in to a groove. A streak of good fortune.

He's obviously got his mind right and started trusting his stuff and not tipping his pitches, either... whatever... comeback player and all... I happy he he was a big factor in his teams championship.
