Was this the north Spec's?
I remember all the good times me 'n Miller enjoyed
Up and down the M1 in some luminous yo-yo toy
But the future has to change - and to change I've got to destroy
Oh look out Lennon here I come - land ahoy-hoy-hoy

I'm on my way right after lunch.  Have heard a ton of good things about it.  A buddy who knows beers said it was the best he ever had.

Try it without the ice to kill your tastebuds ... cold, but not too cold.  Trust me on this just once.

I agree. I haven't had this particular one, but good beer is always much better when not ice cold.

I've got mugs that have water trapped around the sides of it. Take it out of the freezer, beer poured slowly at an angle...damn good shit.

Found this here on the left coast at bev mo.  Very tasty - perfect for flipping back and forth between the world series and MNF.  I definitely need a few beers to listen to McCarver and Buck.

That depends (yes, this coming from the land of warm beer).  The Tall Texan in the Heights serves Shiner Bock in frozen goblets made of glass that is so thick it's bullet-proof...and it's wonderful.

too cold for German beer. trust Bob on this.

ETA: because of the correct temperature controversy on the TZ in years past, i asked at the Ayinger Brewery at what temperature they recommended their beer to be served. the answer was 6 degrees C.

SPEAK AMERICAN

The anal mental conversion method is to double the number, subtract a tenth and then add 32.  Gets you to within a fraction of the temperature in "American", instead of being off by a few degrees using the usual double-and-add-30 method.  6C = 43F, which is about the lower end of the temperature range for white wine.

Ah, good to know, thanks. For some reason I thought he was talking about ice on the inside of the mug mixing with the beer.

My Spec's pretty much carries this year round now, which begs the question, why do I buy anything else?

Last month I grabbed a couple of bottles of this and a sixer of the Harcker-Pshorr Oktoberfest, win + awesome.  Still like the Ayinger best but H-P is 1A in my book.

Also, my Brother-In-Law introduced me to Session Lager, nothing fancy but a nice everyday kind of beer and I'm a fan of squatty bottle.

The Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest is my favorite beer.  I cannot sing its praises glowlingly enough.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Thanks for the tip, Jim.  Having a pint (well 1 PT, 0.9 FL. OZ.) tonight and it is excellent.  It goes especially well with spicy tuna sashimi.  That may be sacrilege to some but at least I am keeping with the Axis theme this evening…

I couldn't find the Ayinger Oktoberfest at my local Spec's, but I did pick up a bottle of Ayinger Dunkel-Weizen.  It was quite good.

Had quite the beer weekend; no Ayinger, but I had the Oak-Aged Arrogant Bastard and Dogfish Head's Palo Santo Marro.  The Bastard wasn't quite worth the upgrade from the regular, but the Palo Santo was one of the most unique brews I've ever had.  Very sweet, but with tons of character and spice, with a huge alcohol bite in the back end.
Drinking for two.
