Another 2 score on a ball over Spaz' head with 2 outs.  Middle 1: ATL 3, HOU 1

Not sure if Backe is off because this is just his second inning of work since 9/2, or if he just doesn't have it...

Pence turned the wrong way and made himself look totally stupid on that one.

Yep, started back the right way, turned around the wrong way, and ball ended up in the direction he was heading in the first place...

Good lord, there goes Anderson again.

Hey, later we're going to learn about J.R. Towles thoughts on an alternate career. I wonder what that could be?

Top 2: Backe on the mound.

Lillibridge flies out on a to Bourn who makes a long run for the grab.

Parr singles on a line into right.  1 out, runner on 1B.

Anderson homers to right again...  ATL 5, HOU 0.  One out, none on.

Geary warming up in the pen for the Astros

Prado: aims one at Country Joe West, but misses, singling into center.  1 out, runner on 1B.

Johnson: singles to center, Prado to 3B.  1 out, runners at the corners.

Kotchman: walks on the 3-2 pitch.  1 outs, bases loaded.

Cooper to the mound for a pitching change...

Top 2 (1 out, bases loaded): ATL 5, HOU 0

FYI jonbloozy: don't want to spoil it for you, but you may want to make sure and watch the game because Patti Smith will be interviewing a certain Astro about what his alternate career might have been but for baseball...

Jones flaired into shallow left, scoring Francouer.  ATL 9, HOU 0.  1 out, runner at 1B.

Salmons singles into left center.  1 out, runners at 1B and 2B.

Lillibridge: flies out to Spaz... 2 outs, runners at 1B and 2B.

Parr: struck out swinging.  Mercifully, 3 outs!

End 2: ATL 9, HOU 0

And with that I'm calling it a night on the PBP portion of this program...

Half-assing describes the pitching effort tonight, not your PBP.

Half-assed is pretty generous. Might be quarter-assed, or eighth-assed.

Is that why Ed Romero starting waving his arm the other way as Bourn was rounding third on Tuesday?

His ERA is only 6+?

That was pathetic tonight.

yes i did have fun.  i ended up getting tickets for tomorrow.

it is always better to have the blow out come early in the game rather than later.  that is my theory at least.
