Looks like Wandy is hurt.  Backe is in the ondeck circle to bat for Wandy in the top of the 2nd.  Cassel up in the bullpen.

JD remarks how ironic this situation is:

Cassel comes in for a hurt Wandy.  Brother Cassel comes in for a hurt Tom Brady in the NE game.

When Cassel saw Brady get hurt and pulled from the game he said, "My mom just threw up."  Apparently Mom Cassel gets VERY NERVOUS.

You are welcome to do PBP if you want, I was only posting scoring plays.  Since it is NFL "opening day" I doubt many are paying attention here anyway.

Gotta love that speed...

ETA scoring summary from the bottom of the 3rd: Holliday doubled in 2 runs on a shot to the left field corner.  Cassell struck out Atkins (swinging), and Ianetta drove one to deep center with Bourn playing in, but SPEED prevailed.  End 3: Good Guys 3, Rukkakes 2

Was trying to sacrifice over the runner at 1B.  Sent it perfectly back to the pitcher allowing him to throw to 2B for the force.  2nd time in a row (per the Rukkakes announcers).

Heck of a catch by Atkins there to save a run and a double on Bourns smash.  Maysonette up at the dish for his first MLB at bat.  Popped it up to shallow right and 2B Barmes makes an over the shoulder basket catch to for the 3rd out.

Top 9: Luis Vizcaino (RHP) pitching.

Tejada: strikes out swinging on the 1-2 pitch.  1 out, none on.

Berkman: pops up on the 3-2 pitch to 3B Stewart in foul territory (0-fer his last 17 now).  2 outs, none on.

Spaz: infield single deep in the hole to SS, throw wasn't close...  2 outs, Spaz at 1B.

Castillo: (Spaz steals 2B on the 1-0 pitch).  Great piece of hitting there by Castillo.  Goes up 3-1, fouls a couple of tough pitches off, singles to center (allowing Spaz to score) and then advances to 2B on the throw home. Good Guys 7, Rukkakes 5.  2 outs, runner at 2B.

Abercrombie: struck out swinging on the 1-2 pitch.  3 outs.

This sure has been a satisfying run to watch, a team coming together to play its best when just about everyone with a microphone or a keyboard had written them off.  They've got some new hurdles, it seems, with the injuries over the weekend, but it appears guys are stepping up; it's time for Arias to do so.  Should we hook him up with Matt Foley, motivational speaker?

Great stinking win today.  Thanks for keeping me up to date today, too, Oregonian!
